Özet
Boş zaman terimi etimolojik açıdan incelendiğinde, İngilizce karşılığı olarak“Leisure”kelimesi, Fransızcada ise“Loisir”salahiyet vermek anlamına gelen, Latince karşılığı olarak“Licere”izin vermek, müsaade etmek anlamına gelen kelimelerden türetildiği görülmektedir (Hacıoğlu ve ark., 2003; Karaküçük ve Gürbüz, 2007; McLean, Hurd ve Rogers, 2008). Boş zaman geçmişten günümüze kadar farklı anlamların yüklendiği bir faaliyet alanı olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Bazen dinlenme, eğlenme ve hayattan zevk alma gibi hedonist duygulara dayalı algılanırken bazen de kişilerin kendilerini ifade edebilme, özgür hissetme ve benliklerini oluşturma gibi amaçlara hizmet edici şekilde görülmüştür. İnsanların dünyayı nasıl gördüklerini ve boş zamana hangi anlamları yüklediklerini gösteren ortak bileşen felsefedir. Boş zaman ve felsefe iki boyutlu bir ilişki içerisindedir. İngiliz felsefeci Thomas Hobbes“Boş zaman felsefenin köküdür.”sözüyle felsefenin ortaya çıkmasındaki boş zaman faktörünün önemine değinmiş ve boş zamanın felsefe üzerindeki etkisini ortaya koymuştur (Kurnaz, 2019). Mutluluk bir mefhum olarak her ne kadar içimizi hoş kılan birtakım kelimelerle tasvir edilse de her türlü sosyolojik sıra dışı gelişmeyle yaşamımızın sekteye uğrayabildiği, sonsuz bir aritmetik şaşmazlıkla gelişebilecek her türlü hesap dışı ihtimalin sürekli gündemimize gelebildiği üstelik sürekli devinen bir doğada da yaşadığımız gerçeği, ölüm gerçeğiyle düşündüğümüzde de pek tali yahut pek de mümkün olmayan bir ideal olarak karşımıza çıkabiliyor olsa gerek ki geçen binlerce yıla rağmen bitmez bir hevesle peşinde olduğumuz bir idealdir. Kuşkusuz henüz sosyal bilimlerin bir bütün olarak bilgelik parantezinde algılandığı çağlarda mutlulukla ilgili sorulan her soruya verilen cevap da; zevk, haz, memnuniyet gibi duygulanımlar içermektedir (Yücel, 2019). Cowell ve Wellman (1963)'a göre felsefe ve rekreasyon birbirleri ile ilişkilidir ve bunun sonucunda kişinin bilgi kazanması, mutlu ve sağlıklı olması esas edinilmektedir.

When the term leisure time is examined etymologically, it is seen that it is derived from the English word“Leisure”, the French word“Loisir”meaning to give authority, and the Latin equivalent word“Licere”meaning to allow (Hacıoğlu et al., 2003; Karabüyük). and Gürbüz, 2007; McLean, Hurd and Rogers, 2008). Leisure time appears as an area of activity that has different meanings from past to present. While it is sometimes perceived as based on hedonistic feelings such as resting, having fun and enjoying life, it is sometimes seen as serving purposes such as people's ability to express themselves, feel free and form their identities. The common component that shows how people see the world and what meanings they attach to leisure is philosophy. Leisure and philosophy have a two-dimensional relationship. British philosopher Thomas Hobbes said,“Leisure is the root of philosophy.”He touched upon the importance of the free time factor in the emergence of philosophy and revealed the effect of free time on philosophy. (Kurnaz, 2019). Although happiness, as a concept, is described with some words that make us feel pleasant, when we think about the fact of death, the fact that our lives can be interrupted by all kinds of sociological extraordinary developments, where all kinds of unforeseen possibilities that can develop with infinite arithmetical precision can constantly come to our agenda, and that we live in an ever-moving nature. Although it may seem like a very secondary or impossible ideal, it is an ideal that we pursue with endless enthusiasm despite the passing thousands of years. Undoubtedly, social sciences as a whole have not yet The answer given to every question about happiness in the ages when it was perceived in the brackets of wisdom; It includes emotions such as pleasure, pleasure and satisfaction (Yücel, 2019). According to Cowell and Wellman (1963), philosophy and recreation are related to each other, and as a result, it is essential for the person to gain knowledge and be happy and healthy
