Özet
Türkiye'de bütçe açıklarının enflasyon üzerindeki etkisini teorik ve ampirik olarak incelenmiştir. Bu kapsamda, Türkiye'de bütçe açıkları ile enflasyon arasındaki uzun dönemli ilişkisi 2010:01-2022:12 dönemi kapsayan üçer aylık veriler ile analiz ederek bütçe açıklarının enflasyon üzerindeki etkisini incelemek Tez'in amacını oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada öncelikle bütçe açıkları ve enflasyonun teorik boyutuyla ele alınmıştır. Daha sonra Türkiye'de bütçe açıklarının nedenleri, finansmanı hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Çalışmanın son kısmında ise bütçe açıkların enflasyon üzerindeki etkisinin ampirik olarak analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmada kullanılan ekonometrik yöntemler; genişletilmiş Dickey Fuller (ADF) durağanlık testi, Philip-Perron (PP) durağanlık testi, gecikmesi dağıtılmış otoregresif sınır testi (ARDL) analizi analizidir. Çalışmanın temel bulguları; bütçe açıkları üzerindeki bir değişim Tüketici Fiyat Endeksi'ni etkilemektedir. Başka bir ifade ile bütçe açıkları ile enflasyon arasında pozitif yönlü bir ilişki sergilemektedir.

The effect of budget deficits on inflation in Turkey has been analysed theoretically and empirically. In this context, the aim of this thesis is to analyse the long-run relationship between budget deficits and inflation in Turkey with quarterly data covering the period 2010:01-2022:12 and to examine the effect of budget deficits on inflation. In the study, firstly, budget deficits and inflation are analysed theoretically. Then, information on the causes, financing of budget deficits in Turkey is given. In the last part of the study, the effect of budget deficits on inflation is analysed empirically. The econometric methods used in the study are Extended Dickey Fuller (ADF) stationarity test, Philip-Perron (PP) stationarity test, lagged autoregressive frontier test (ARDL) analysis. The main findings of the study are that a change in budget deficits affects the Consumer Price Index. In other words, there is a positive relationship between budget deficits and inflation.
