Özet
Bu araştırma, belirli bir çağdaş ve postmodern kuram bağlamında Kant'ın eleştirel felsefesinin sahip olduğu olanaklara ve sınırlılıklara ilişkin bir perspektifin nasıl oluşturulabileceğine odaklanmaktadır. Böyle bir araştırmayı harekete geçiren başlıca neden, toplumsal cinsiyet konusunun Türkiye'de genel olarak Kant felsefesi bağlamında çalışılmasında bir boşluk olduğu tespitidir. Araştırma, bu tespit bağlamında, iki ana bölüm halinde, birincisinde toplumsal cinsiyet kuramından Kant felsefesine, ikincisinde ise Kant felsefesi merkezinden toplumsal cinsiyete yönelik olacak şekilde eleştirel bir okuma perspektifi sunmaktadır. Tezin birinci bölümünde, feminizm ve toplumsal cinsiyet araştırmaları bağlamında Kant'a ve Kant'ın felsefesine yönelik yürütülen tartışmalar, Aydınlanma çağında ve felsefesindeki bir uçta cinsiyetçiliğin ve diğer uçta toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği mücadelesinin izlerinin gözlemlendiği tarihsel ve düşünsel arka planla birlikte betimlenmektedir. İkinci bölüm, Kant'ın eleştirel felsefesinin, toplumsal cinsiyeti nasıl konu edinebileceğine odaklanmaktadır. Bu bölümün ilk kısmı, öznenin cinsiyet ve toplumsal cinsiyetine ilişkin ontoloji merkezli tartışmaya, Kantçı teorik felsefe üzerinden katılarak Kantçı özne kavrayışının teorik zeminini ortaya koymaktadır. İkinci kısımdaki okumalar, bu öznenin ahlakî fail olarak toplumsal cinsiyet etiğinde ele alınışına Kantçı pratik akıl üzerinden bakmaktadır. Birinci bölümün sonunda belirlenen dört temel eleştirinin ikinci bölümün ilk iki kısmında bu şekilde tartışılmasından sonra; üçüncü kısımda toplumsal cinsiyet kuramında öznenin ontolojik ve etik kavrayışları arasındaki gerilime Kant'ın düşünümsel yargı gücü kuramının nasıl bir çözüm sunabileceği tartışılmaktadır. Sonuç itibariyle, Kant'ın Eleştiri programı içinde bir toplumsal cinsiyet okuması çabasının, Kant'ın transandantal felsefesinin olanaklarına ilişkin 'eleştirel' bir perspektif sunmanın yanında, uçlardaki felsefî kavrayışlar arasında yeni bağlar ve uzlaşıların kurulabilmesinde felsefî perspektifin genişletilmesi kadar derinleştirilmesine de katkı sağladığı savunulmaktadır.

This research focuses on how a perspective on the possibilities and limitations of Kant's critical philosophy can be developed within a specific contemporary and postmodern theoretical framework. The main reason for undertaking such an inquiry is the fact that there is a vacuum in the study of gender issue in Turkey within the general context of Kantian philosophy. In response to this fact, the study offers a critical reading perspective in two main parts: the first one from gender theory to Kantian philosophy, and the second one from Kantian philosophy to gender. In the first part of the thesis, discussions concerning Kant and his philosophy within the context of feminism and gender studies are described alongside the historical and intellectual background in which traces of sexism on one end and the struggle for gender equality on the other end can be observed in the Enlightenment era and its philosophy. The second part focuses on how Kant's critical philosophy can engage with the gender issue. The first section of this part lays the theoretical ground for the Kantian conception of the subject by engaging in an ontology-centered discussion of the sex and gender of the subject through Kantian theoretical philosophy. The readings in the second section look for how this subject is treated as a moral agent in gender ethics from the Kantian perspective of practical reason. After discussing the four fundamental criticisms identified at the end of the first part in the first two sections of the second part, the third section discusses how Kant's theory of reflective judgment can offer a solution to the tension between the ontological and ethical conceptions of the subject in gender theory. Consequently, the study argues that the effort for a gender reading within Kant's Critique program contributes not only to offering a 'critical' perspective on the possibilities of Kant's transcendental philosophy, but also to deepening and broadening the philosophical perspective in establishing new connections and compromises between opposing philosophical understandings.
