Özet (Çeviri)

Abstract Purpose- The purpose of this research is to determine the level of the impact 1973 crisis had on the Iraqi oil industry in terms of politics, economy, and social. Various studies have been conducted regarding the impact of 1973 crisis. Yet, there are no studies that specifically focus on the crisis and its impact on the Iraqi oil industry. The research question is to“understand the level of influence the embargo caused on Iraqi oil industry regarding aspects, such as economic, political and social”. Additional to“the comprehension of whether the influence in these categories showed improvement or impairment”. Further purpose is to understand the duration of the influence. Approach- The primary research consists of 11 open-ended questionnaires with authorities and academics of the oil industry. This qualitative research will be analysed through the process of thematic analysis and code development. The primary data represent the perspective of the Iraq regarding the topic. The data analysis is completed through focusing on the contradictory findings. Moreover, the research will focus on the frequency of the identical data in findings (Boyatzis, 1998). Findings- One of the controversial findings of the analysis is the statement that in fact, Iraq was the leader and the founder of the oil weapon movement. Contradictory to various literature reviews, the research has shown that the economic, politic and social consequences were beneficial in the short-run, however, the reverse impact was seen on the oil industry on the long-run, due to country's instable politics. In fact, most partakes of the research relates the today's instable economy to the 1973 crisis. Arguing that it's a“punishment for triggering the oil revolution”.
