Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, 20. yüzyılda başlayan modern dönem ile sonrasındaki postmodern dönem flüt müziğini incelemek, karşılaştırmalı olarak örneklerle anlatmaktır. Araştırma, modern ve postmodern dönemde müzik formları, sanat akımları, armoni, tınısal arayışlar, genişletilmiş flüt çalım teknikleri alanında yapıldığı gibi; sanatçıların müziğe olan felsefi yaklaşımları alanında da gerçekleşmiştir. Tezin birinci bölümünde modern ve postmodern dönemlerin genel müzik anlayışları ve sanat akımları, ikinci bölümde modern flütün gelişimi ve genişletilmiş çalım teknikleri, üçüncü bölümde ise modern ve postmodern dönemlerden eser örneklerinin incelemeleri yer almaktadır. Eserlerin etkili biçimde incelenebilmesi adına öncelikle dönemlerin müzik anlayışları ve flütün teknik gelişimi ele alınmıştır. Eserler, müzikal form ve yapı bakımından analiz edilmiş, flüt teknikleri incelenmiş ve modern/postmodern dönem yaklaşımları yerli ve yabancı kaynaklardan nota örnekleri aktarılarak değerlendirilmiştir.

The purpose of this study is to examine and compare examples of flute music from the modern period, which began in the 20th century, and the postmodern period that followed. The research focuses on musical forms, art movements, harmony, tonal explorations, and extended flute playing techniques in the modern and postmodern periods, as well as the philosophical approaches of artists to music. The first section of the thesis examines the general musical understanding and art movements of the modern and postmodern periods, the second section focuses the development of the modern flute and extended playing techniques, and the third section examines examples of works from the modern and postmodern periods. In order to examine the works in a correct way, this thesis focuses on primarily the musical understandings of the periods and the technical development of the flute. The works were analyzed in terms of musical form and structure, flute techniques were examined, and modern/postmodern period approaches were evaluated by quoting musical examples from local and foreign sources.
