Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, lise öğrencilerinin sayı duyularının ne düzeyde olduğunu ve sayı duyularının lise türlerine ve sınıf seviyelerine göre nasıl değişiklik gösterdiğini araştırmaktır. Araştırma bir karma yöntem araştırmasıdır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, 2024-2025 eğitim-öğretim yılında, Afyonkarahisar ilinde 3 farklı lisede öğrenim gören lise öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın nicel kısmı için toplam 291 lise öğrencisinden veri toplanırken, nitel kısmı için 12 öğrenciden veri toplanmıştır. Nicel kısım için veriler 38 soruluk çoktan seçmeli“Sayı Duyusu Testi”ile toplanmıştır. Veriler istatistik paket programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın nitel kısmında ise 17 Soruluk“Sayı Duyusu Testi”kullanılmıştır. Öğrencilerden testi çözerken sesli düşünmeleri istenmiş ve bu süreç video kaydına alınmıştır. Öğrencilerin cevap kâğıtları ve görüşmelerin kayıtları ayrı ayrı dosyalanıp incelenmiştir. Bu dosyalar betimsel analiz yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Ayrıca bu 17 soru sayı duyusu bileşenlerine göre ayrılmış ve öğrencilerin hangi bileşene ait soruları çözmeye daha yatkın oldukları ve hangi bileşene ait soruları çözmekte zorlandıkları belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın nicel sonuçlarına göre en başarılı olan lise türü Anadolu Lisesi iken en başarısız olan lise türü Meslek Lisesidir. Araştırmanın nitel kısmında Meslek Lisesi ve Anadolu Lisesi öğrencileri birbirine çok yakın performanslar göstermiştir. Sosyal Bilimler Lisesi öğrencileri biraz daha geride kalmıştır. Araştırmanın nicel kısmında en başarılı olan sınıf kademesi belirgin bir şekilde 12. sınıf öğrencileri iken nitel kısmında sınıf düzeylerine göre öğrencilerin benzer performanslar sergiledikleri görülmüştür. Araştırmada ulaşılan bir diğer sonuç ise sayı duyusu bileşenleri ile ilgilidir. Lise öğrencilerinin nicel verilere göre en başarılı oldukları bileşen zihinden hesaplama, en başarısız oldukları bileşen ise sayıların denk gösterimi bileşenidir. Nitel verilere göre ise en başarılı oldukları bileşen kıyaslama noktası kullanımı, en az başarılı oldukları bileşen ise sayıları ayrıştırma ve yeniden birleştirme bileşenidir.

The aim of this research is to investigate the level of number sense among high school students and how this sense varies according to the type of high school and grade level. The research is a mixed-methods study. The sample consists of high school students studying in three different high schools in Afyonkarahisar province during the 2024-2025 academic year. Data was collected from a total of 291 high school students for the quantitative part of the research, and from 12 students for the qualitative part. For the quantitative part, data was collected using a 38-question multiple-choice“Number Sense Test”. The data was analyzed using statistical software. For the qualitative part of the research, a 17-question“Number Sense Test”was used. Students were asked to think aloud while taking the test, and this process was video recorded. The students' answer sheets and the recordings of the interviews were separately filed and examined. These files were analyzed using descriptive analysis methods. Furthermore, these 17 questions were categorized according to the components of number sense, and it was determined which components the students were more adept at solving and which components they had difficulty solving. According to the quantitative results of the study, the most successful type of high school was the Anatolian High School, while the least successful was the Vocational High School. In the qualitative part of the study, Vocational High School and Anatolian High School students showed very similar performances. Social Sciences High School students lagged slightly behind. While the most successful grade level in the quantitative part was clearly 12th-grade students, the qualitative part showed that students exhibited similar performances across grade levels. Another finding of the study concerns the components of number sense. According to the quantitative data, the component in which high school students were most successful was mental calculation, while the component in which they were least successful was the equivalent representation of numbers. According to the qualitative data, the component in which they were most successful was the use of comparison points, and the component in which they were least successful was the decomposition and recombination of numbers.
