Özet
BEYOĞLU, GÜLLABİCİ SOKAK VE ÇEVRESİNDE SIHHİLEŞTİRME ÇALIŞMASI ÖZET Beyoğlu, günümüze gelinceye dek çeşitli değişimlere uğramasına rağmen, İstanbul'un diğer tarihi bölgeleriyle kıyaslandığında, tarihsel niteliklerini ve yoğunluğunu hala koruyabilen, fiziksel doku bozulmalarının daha az görüldüğü semtlerden biridir. Özellikle Tanzimat'tan sonra kendilerine tanınan ayrıcalıkların arttırılmasıyla, başta Avrupa kökenli Levantenler olmak üzere, Rum, Ermeni ve Musevi grupların semtteki etkinliklerini ve ağırlıklarım yoğunlaşmıştır. Bu grupların Beyoğlu'na kazandırdığı önemli sosyal ve fiziksel nitelikler, buranın özgün ve kültürel bakımdan renkli bir semt haline dönüşmesini sağlamıştır. Bu niteliklere sahip Beyoğlu bölgesinin, taşıdığı kültürel ve tarihsel özellikleri, günümüz koşulları ve yörenin gereksinimleri çerçevesinde değerlendirip, sıhhileştirilmesini hedefleyen tez çalışmasının birinci bölümünde çalışmanın amacı ve kapsamı yer almaktadır. İkinci bölümde, Beyoğlu'nun hem ilçe, hem semt ölçeğinde, İstanbul içindeki konumuna ve coğrafi özelliklerine değinilmektedir. Üçüncü bölümde, bölge genelindeki tarihsel gelişim ve fiziksel yapıdaki değişimler yüzyıllık zaman dilimlerine ayrılarak ele alınmaktadır. Dördüncü bölümde, bölge içinde seçilen çalışma alanının mimari özellikleri, sosyal ve ekonomik yapısı, analiz ve anketlerle desteklenerek incelenmektedir. Yine bu bölümde, çalışma alanında içerdiği özellikler nedeniyle örnek olarak seçilen“Güllabici Sokak”, tespit, çizim ve gözlemlere dayalı olarak incelenmekte ve bu inceleme, bölge genelindeki koruma sorunlarım saptama ve öneri geliştirme konusunu daha sınırlı alanda, daha ayrıntılı bir biçimde ele almayı sağlamaktadır. Beşinci bölümde, Beyoğlu Bölgesiyle ilgili olarak daha önceden alınmış koruma kararlarına ve hem genel semt çerçevesinde hem de çalışılan sokak ölçeğinde geliştirilen yeni önerilere değinilmektedir. Altınca ve sonuç bölümünde yapılan tüm çalışmaların bir değerlendirilmesi yer almaktadır. Tez, bölgenin ve çalışma alanının analiz ve öneri paftaları, Güllabici Sokak'ta yapılan mevcut durum ve öneri siluetlerini içeren çizimlerle bütünleşmektedir. IXÇalışmanın sonunda, ayrıca çeşitli belge ve fotoğrafların yer aldığı ekler ve konuyla ilgili kaynakça yer almaktadır.

SANITATION WORKS OF BEYO?LU GULLABICI STREET AND ITS VICINITY SUMMARY Although Beyoğlu had faced various changes until today, when compared the other historical regions of İstanbul, it is one of the districts which can still conserve its' historical characteristics and concentration, and in which physical structure deformations are seen less. Particularly after Tanzimat Period, the activities and efficiencies of Levantines of European origin especially and Greek, Armenian and Jewish groups were more concentrated in the district due to the increase of the privileges given to them. The important social and physical qualities contributed to Beyoğlu by these groups, caused this district to turn into a colorful one in original and cultural aspects. The purpose and contents are explained in the first section of this thesis study, which aims the evaluation and sanitation of cultural and historical characteristics of Beyoğlu district, which is possessing the above qualities, within the frame of today's conditions and the requirements of the region. In the second section, the location and geographic characteristics of Beyoğlu in İstanbul, both as a county and as a district scale, are mentioned. In the third section, historical developments and changes in the physical structure of the region in general are explained in centennial time intervals. In the fourth section, the architectural characteristics, social and economical structure of the working area chosen in the region, which are supported by analysis and inquiries, are examined. Again in this section,“Giillabici Street”which was chosen as sample, due to the characteristics it possesses in the working area, is examined depending on determination, drawing and observations and this examination provides the determination of the conservation problems of the region in general and proposal development in a more limited area, in a more detailed way. In the fifth section, the conservation decisions taken previously related to Beyoğlu Region and new proposals developed both within the district in general and on the scale of the street worked on, are described. In the sixth and conclusion section, an evaluation of all the works made takes place. The thesis integrates with the analysis and proposal maps of the region and working area, the present situation made in Giillabici Street and drawings comprising the proposal silhouettes. At the end of the study, there are the attachments of various documents and photographs and resources related to the subject. XI
