Özet
ÖZET Bu çalışmada okçuluğun tarihi gelişimi, Türklerde ve özellikle Osmanlı Devletinde okçuluk sporuna verilen önem incelenmiştir. Okçulukla ilgili teknik bilgiler, ok ve yay yapımı, ok çeşitleri, ok atma yarışmaları, yasal düzenlemeler, ok atma ile ilgili tesisler, (Ok Meydanı ve Tekkeler) tekkelerin işleyişleri ve ödül törenleri ile ilgili bilgiler verilmeye çalışılmıştır. Yarışmaların dışında ok atma ile yapılan değişik gösteriler (Darp Vurma) ve sporcuların lisans (Kabza Alma) alabilmeleri için yapılan çalışmalar incelenmiştir.

Ill SUMMARY Lu this research we studied the historical evolution of the arrow shootting by Turcs and especially by Ottomans, the importance of the arrow shotting in the time of the Ottoman Empire. We tried to give imformation on technics of arrow shoottings, production of arrows and bows, typs of arrows, competitions of arrow shoottings, juridical regulations, institutions for arrow shootting, (places for arrow shootting) the functions of arrow shoottings, celebrations. Besides commpetitions we searched also the various shows performed with arrows, the licensing of sportsmen.
