It is possible to see the wooden works created in Macedonia, during the Ottoman era, in the Turkish-Islamic and Christian buildings. There is, at present, a total of 15 wooden sample of Turkish-Islamic buildings. From these samples, there are 16 wooden door wings, 32 window wings and 12 wooden ceilings which have been able to reach present time.There are two wooden ceilings decorations that have not been able to reach the present time, but we to examined on the basis of photographs. The material used in the production of wooden works in the Macedonian religious buildings depends on the kind of tree cultivated in that region. Therefore, walnut,willow,chestnut,maple,linden trees which are mostly cultivated trees in Macedonia are the most frequently used materials in the wooden workmanship of the specific regions.The most frequently used tree types in the western regions of Macedonia are chestnut,linden tree and walnut. In the wooden work samples of northern and southern regions,mostlywalnut and willow trees are used. The techniques applied in the wooden works can be classified as production techniques and decoration techniques.All the works are gotten by scarfing technique. In some works, engraving(kundekari) has both production and decoration characteristics(Door wings of Mustafa Pasha Mosque, Yahya Pasha Mosques in Uskup(Skopye) and sanctuary sections ceiling of Hadji Ibrahim,Kumsal Mosque in Koprulu(Veles). Decoration techniques indicated bellow were aplied: 143smooth surface engraving technique(inscriptions on the door wing of Gazi Isa Bey, Mustafa Pasha, Yahya Pasha Mosques in Uskup(Skopye) and Ishak Chelebi Mosque in Manastir(Bitola), inscriptions and vegetal motives on the door and ceilings of the foundation for ablutions, Fatima House and Guest House of the Harabati Baba Bektashi Buildings Collections in Kalkandelen(Tetovo). Painting on the wood technique (Ceiling decorations of the sanctuary parts of Sultan Murat Mosque in Skopye, sanctuary section window sashes of the Alaca Mosque,ceiling decoration of the fountain for ablutions of the Harabati Baba Bektashi Collection Buildings in Kalkandelen, Ivory inlay technique (door wings in Yahya Pasha Mosque in Scopye). Door wings and window sashes are generally made depending on the diagram having three, four or multiple panels. The same diagram has been applied in the ceiling decorations.To tell the thruth, ceiling boss has been added to the center of the ceiling decorations which is applied in one or two rectangular cornices.In some, of these samples, triangle figures have been placed to the corners of the rectangle(Ceiling decorations of the ceiling of the private section of the Yahya Pasha Mosque in Skopye, ceiling decorations of the fountain for ablutions and Fatima House of the Harabati Baba Bektashi buildings collection in Kalkandelen). It is being seen that XVIth andXVIIth centuries works of the wooden art work samples stayed bound to the Turkish-Islamic motives developped in Anatolia(Door wings of the Mustafa Pasha Mosque, Yahya Pasha Mosquejshak Bey Mosque, Gazi Isa Bey Mosque in Skopye,door wings and window saches of the Kadi Mehmet Efendi Mosque,Haydar Kadi Mosque,Ishak Chelebi Mosque in Bitola). In XVIIIth century, baroque and renaissance effected westernization mouvement has also been seen in macedonian wooden decoration.Western 144effects,accepted affectionately by palace and capital surroundings,commenced to be applied easily in Macedonian Turkish-Islamic works too(decorations of the Gazi Isa Bey Mosques pulpit, decorations of the Faik Pasha Mosques door wings in Skopye,decorations of the Alaca Mosques window sashes, decorations of the door wings and ceiling in the fountain for ablutions, Fatima House and Guest House buildings, in the Harabati Baba buildings collection in Kalkandelen. Generally, in all wooden work samples geometrical and vegetal motives had been applied. Sometimes,by adding inscriptions(as in the door wings and window sashes of the Gazi Isa Bey, Yahya Pasha Mosques in Skopye and as in the door wings and window sashes of the Ishak Chelebi Mosque in Manastir(Bitola) and as in the entrance door of the Harabati Baba Bektashi buildings collection) geometrical compositions had compositions with inscriptional motives and compositions With geometrical,vegetal and inscriptional figures have been created. Wooden decoration samples in the Turkish-Islamic buildings constructed during the Ottoman era, in Macedonia, have an important place in the Turkish art and in addition in the Macedonian art,developped in the Ottoman era.Each of these wooden workmanship samples, dating back to between XIV and XIX centuries, has a distinct value.
