Özet
Sanayi işletmeleri, bir sistem bütünlüğü içinde ele alındığında, üretim sürecinin bu bütündeki en önemli ve temel alt-sistem olduğu görülmektedir. Dolayısıyla bir işletmenin pazarda rekabet avantajı sağlamasındaki en önemli etken, üretim sisteminin etkinliğidir. Üretim sistemlerinin etkinliği ise, ancak etkin bir malzeme planlama ve stok yönetim sisteminin kurulması ile sağlanabilir. Stok yönetim ve kontrol sistemleri, karmaşık ve çok yüklü bir bilgi akışım gerektirir. Bu nedenledir ki, stok yönetiminde tutarlılığın sağlanması için, bu bilginin hata oranının çok düşük, hatta sıfır olmasına çalışılmalıdır. Bu gerekliliklerin doğal sonucu olarak bilgi sistemleri, stok yönetiminde geniş uygulama alanları bulmaktadır. Bugün işletmeler bu sistemler arasında, doğru ve hızlı veri toplanmasına olanak veren en ucuz ve etkin sistemin barkod teknolojileri olduğununun farkına varmaktadırlar. Bu çalışmada da sanayii işletmelerinin stok yönetiminde barkod teknolojilerine dayalı bilgi sistemlerinin kullanım olanakları ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır. Çalışmada metodoloji olarak belgesel tarama kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler, bilgiler ve incelenen örnek çalışmalar arasında neden-sonuç ilişkisi kurulmaya çalışılmış ve genel hatlarıyla, sanayi işletmelerinin stok yönetiminde barkod teknolojilerine dayalı bilgi sistemlerinin klasik sistemlere üstünlüklerinin neler olduğu ve bu sistemlerin nasıl olması gerekliliği sorularına cevaplar aranmıştır. Çalışmada önce malzeme (materyal) ekonomisi ve stok yönetimindeki temel kavramlar, stok yönetiminin ilkeleri ve amaçları ile klasik stok kontrol yöntemleri üzerinde durulmuş ve diğer bölümlere bir temel oluşturması amacıyla, stok yönetiminde otomasyon uygulamalarına bir giriş yapılmıştır. Bu otomasyon uygulamaları arasında, stok yönetiminde malzeme kabulü, depo yönetimi, sipariş toplama ve sevkiyat gibi birçok operasyonda kullanılan bir otomatik tanıma ve veri toplama teknolojisi olan barkod teknolojisi incelenmiştir. Barkod teknolojisi daha çok genel uygulama açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmanın ikinci bölümünde, barkod teknolojisinin stok yönetimindeki kullanım olanakları ve etkileri teorik olarak ve detaylı bir şekilde ele alınmış; üçüncü bölümde ise, otomobil sektöründen bir firmadaki uygulamaları örneklenmiştir.

When industrial businesses are taken as a system integrity, production is the main subsystem of this integration. Therefore, the significant factor for an organization to gain competitive advantage in the market is the effectiveness of its production system. The effectiveness of the production system can only be obtained by implementing an effective material planning and inventory management system. Inventory management and control systems need a complex and loaded information flow. Consequently, to get consistency in inventory management, the error percentage of this information must be strived to be very low, even zero. As a natural result of these necessities, information systems have a wide implementation area in inventory management. Today many companies realize that, the cheapest and effective system between these information systems is the barcode technologies, which enables accurate and fast data collection. In this paper, the usability of the information technologies depending on barcode technologies in inventory management of industrial businesses is exposed. Document research is the methodology used in the study. A reason-result relationship is endeavoured to be established between the data and information collected and the case studies inspected. Answers to questions are searched, such as: what the superiorities of the information systems depending on barcode technologies to the classical systems in inventory management are and how these systems are needed to be. Precedently, the basic concepts in materials planning and inventory management, the principles and objectives of inventory management and the classical methods in inventory management are described. An introduction for automation applications in inventory management is also given to form a base for the oncoming sections. Barcoding technology, as an automatic identification and data collection technology used in many inventory management operations such as material acceptance, warehouse management, order picking and shipping, is examined. This technology is exposed from the view of its general applications.In the second section of the paper, practical opportunities and effects of this technology in inventory management, are described theoritically in detail; and in the third section, these effects are showed in the system's application model in a company from the automotive industry.
