oz VEKTÖR MEZON FOTOÜRETİMİYLE İLGİLİ BAZI TEORİK ARAŞTIRMALAR BABACAN, Halil Doktora, Fizik Bölümü Tez Yöneticisi: Prof. Dr. Osman Yılmaz Ortak Tez Yöneticisi: Prof. Dr. Michael P. Rekalo Haziran 2002, 83 sayfa. Bu tezde, nükleonlar üzerinden Roper rezonans ve u mezon ortak fotoüretimi ile yüklü p mezon fotoüretimi önerilen modeller çerçevesinde farklı enerjilerde incelendi. Ortak u mezon fotoüretim mekanizması için wNN çiftlenim sabit lerinin uNN çiftlenim sabitlerine eşit olabileceği varsayılıp daha önceden u mezon fotoüretimine ait mevcut deneysel verilere fit yapılarak kestirilen bu çiftlenim katsayılarım kullanarak diferansiyel tesir kesitine da/dt ve demet asimetrisine E ait tahminleri yaptık. Ayrıca 7 + N - > p^ + N için da/dt' 'yi hesaplayarak p^ deneysel verileriyle karşılaştırdık ve momentum transferin karesi, t cinsinden E hakkında tahminlerde bulunduk. Sonuçlarımız, önerilen modellerin AT* (1440) rezonansının özelliklerini elde etmede ve p mezon manyetik dipol momentinin p± fotoüretiminde oynadığı rolü belirlemede kullanılabileceğini göstermektedir.

ABSTRACT SOME THEORETICAL INVESTIGATIONS CONCERNING VECTOR MESON PHOTOPRODUCTION BABACAN, Halil Ph.D., Department of Physics Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Osman Yılmaz Co-Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Michael P. Rekalo June 2002, 83 pages. In this thesis, associative photoproduction of Roper resonance and u meson, and charged p meson photoproduction on nucleons are studied in the frame work of some proposed models at different energies. For associative u meson photoproduction on nucleons we produce the numerical predictions for differ ential cross section da/dt and beam asymmetry E assuming uNN* coupling constants to be equal to the values of these couplings for u>NN vertex and us ing our previous estimation of these coupling constants obtained from a fit to available experimental data on photoproduction of u meson. We also calculate da/dt for 7 + N - > p* + N and compare our results with existing experimental data about p* photoproduction, and predict E with respect to momentum transfer square, t. Our results show that suggested models can be used for extracting the properties of AT* (1440) and determining the role of magnetic dipole moment of p meson in p* photoproduction.
