ESNEK ÜRETİM SÜREÇLERİNİN TÜRKİYE SANAYİLEŞMESİNDE BİR STRATEJİ OLARAK GEÇERLİLİĞİ (Yüksek Lisans Tezi) Bülent MATUR GAZİ ÜNİVERSİTESİ FEN BİLİMLERİ ENSTİTÜSÜ Aralık 2003 ÖZET Esnek üretim sistemleri, özellikle 1990'h yıllardan itibaren, tüm ülkelerin sanayileşme süreçlerinde aynı öneme sahip ve önemli atılım olanakları sunan bir teknolojik yenilik olarak gündeme gelmiştir. Oysa bu sistemler, üretim organizasyonu ve çalışma ilişkilerini de kapsayan bütünlüklü bir yeniden yapılanmanın bir parçası olarak kullanılmaktadır. Bu anlamda uygulanacağı ülkenin bilim, teknoloji, sanayi alt yapısından istihdam politikalarına kadar bir bütünlüğün içinde değerlendirilmelidir. Sanayileşmekte olan ülkeler kategorisinde kabul edilen Türkiye'de de esnek üretim sistemleri sanayileşme stratejisinin önemli bir unsuru olarak tartışılmaktadır. Bu tez ile esnek üretim sistemlerinin Türkiye'nin sanayileşme sürecinde üstlenebileceği rolü, getireceği olanakları ve bu olanakların gerçekleşebilmesinin önündeki kısıtları tartışılmaktadır.

RELEVANCE OF FLEXIBLE MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS AS A STRATEGY IN THE INDUSTRIALIZATION OF TURKEY (M.Sc. Thesis) Bülent MATUR GAZİ ÜNİVERSİTY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY December 2003 ABSTRACT Since 1990s, flexible manufacturing systems have arisen as a technological innovation which has the same importance in the industrialization process of all countries and which brings big opportunity for industrial progress. However, these systems have been used as a component of a complete restructuring including industrial organization and work relations. Therefore, flexible manufacturing systems should be evaluated considering a whole set of policies including the scientific, technological and industrial infrastructure and employment policy of the country where these systems will be used. Flexible manufacturing systems have been discussed as an important component of industrialization strategy in Turkey which is categorized as an industrializing country. This thesis discusses the role of flexible manufacturing systems in the industrialization precess of Turkey, the opportunities brought by these systems and the constraints on the realization of these opportunities.
