Özet

ÖZET Araştırma' da ortaöğretim kurumlarında görev yapan coğrafya öğretmenlerinin, coğrafya öğretiminde teknolojik materyallerden ne ölçüde yararlanabildiklerini, tespit etmek ve değerlendirmek amaçlanmıştır. Bu amacın gerçekleştirilebilmesi amacıyla, Bursa İli merkez ilçeleri olan; Osmangazi, Yıldırım, Nilüfer ilçelerinden random usulüyle belirlenen Ek-3'te belirtilen ortaöğretim kurumlarındaki 103 adet coğrafya öğretmeni ile 397 adet öğrenciye anket uygulanmıştır. Öğretmenlerin coğrafya derslerinin işlenişi ve teknolojik materyallerin kullanımına ilişkin görüşlerine yönelik elde edilen verilerin, aritmetik ortalamaları, frekansları, yüzdeleri, standart sapmaları hesaplanarak tespit edilmiştir. Öğretmenlerin ve öğrencilerin coğrafya derslerinin işlenişi ve teknolojik materyallerin kullanımına ilişkin görüşlerine yönelik elde edilen verilerin, öğretmenlerin, cinsiyet, hizmet yılı, en son mezun olunan yükseköğretim kurumu değişkenlerine, öğrenci görüşlerinin ise cinsiyet ve okul türü değişkenlerine göre farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığının belirlenmesi açısından, tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA), t-testi uygulanarak sonuçlan tespit edilmiştir. Verilerden elde edilen bulgulara dayalı olarak araştırmaya katılan Öğretmenlerin %91.3'ü okullarında coğrafya dersliği bulunmadığım belirtmiş ayrıca %67.0'si eğitim materyallerinin kullanımı ile ilgili bir hizmet içi eğitim kursuna katılmadıklarını ifade etmişlerdir. Öğretmenler teknolojik materyallerden yeterince yararlanamadıklarını ifade ederken, yararlanamama nedenleri olarak genelde materyalin okullarında bulunmaması ve okullarında yeterli sayıda bulunmamasını göstermişlerdir. Öğretmenlerin coğrafya dersinin işleniş esaslarına ilişkin görüşleri cinsiyetlerine bağlı olarak farklılaşmamıştır. Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin %88.7'si okullarında coğrafya dersliği olmadığını belirtmiştir. Öğrencilerin %48.8' i okulumuzda coğrafya dersleri teknolojik görsel aletler yardımıyla işlenmektedir, görüşüne tümüyle katılmamaktadır. Öğrencilerin teknolojik materyallerin kullanım düzeylerine ilişkin11 görüşleri cinsiyetlerine bağlı olarak farklılaşamamıştır. Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin %42.6'sı öğretmenlerinin coğrafya dersinde gösteri yöntemini hiçbir zaman kullanmadığını ifade ederken, %74.3'ü ise anlatım yönteminin coğrafya dersinde öğretmenler tararından her zaman kullanıldığını ifade etmiştir. Öğrencilerin, eğitimi daha etkili ve daha anlaşılır kılmak için gerekli materyallerin sağlanması düzeyine ilişkin görüşleri okul türlerine göre farklılık göstermekte olup öğrenciler, özel lise ve fen lisesinde oldukça fazla, Anadolu lisesinde orta düzeyde, genel lise ve meslek liselerinde ise yetersiz düzeyde olduğunu düşünmektedirler. Öğrencilerin, coğrafya dersi yalnızca öğretmenlerin anlatımıyla işlenmektedir ifadesine ilişkin görüşleri okul türü değişkenine göre anlamlı bir farklılık göstermektedir. Özel lise öğrencileri coğrafya dersinin sadece öğretmenin anlatımıyla işlendiği görüşüne tümüyle katılmamaktadır. Öğrencilerin teknolojik materyallerin kullanımına ilişkin görüşleri okul türüne göre farklılık göstermekte olup özel lise ve fen lisesi öğrencilerinin genelde teknolojik materyallerden, genel lise ve meslek lisesi öğrencilerine oranla daha fazla yararlanmakta oldukları belirlenmiştir.

Ill ABSTRACT In this research, it's aimed to find out and evaluate how geography teachers working in high schools be able to use or benefit from technological materials in geography teaching.Being able to reach this aim;a question are is applied to 103 geography teachers and 397 students from high schools of central districts of Bursa which are Osmangazi,Yildinm, Nilüfer also shown in attachment-3 are chosen randomly. The mean,frequency and the standart variations of the data obtained with the questionnaire about the procedure of geography lesson and the usage of technological materials in the lesson from teachers answers and views by questionnaire; are calculated and determined in the research. In order to determine whether the data; obtained form the questionnaire, about the views of teachers and students on the procedure of the geography lesson and the usage of technological instruments differentiate or not; a one way varyans (ANOVA ) analysis T-test was held. According to the data obtained from the teachers who had participated the research; 91.3 % of them mentioned the absence of geography classes in their schools where as 67% of them mentioned that they didn't participated a course on how to use technological instruments, which is held by Ministry of Education. While the teachers expressed that they don't use these technology sufficiently, they also give reasons of these as the absence of these technological materials or lack of them in number in their schools. The views of the teachers on the basic procedure of geography lesson didn't differentiate with the variable of gender. 88. 7 % of the students stated that they don't have geography classes in their schools. Also 48.8 % of the students totally disagree on the idea that the geography lessons in their school are sufficiently held with the help of visual technological instruments.IV The opinions of the students on the usage frequency level of the technological instruments didn't differentiate in the mean of the variable 'gender'. 42.6% of the students participated in the research expressed that the teachers in geography lessons have never used the 'demonstration technique', where as 74.3% of them told 'story telling technique is always used by teachers in geography lessons. The students opinions on supplemented sufficient education materials, to make education more understandable and more sufficient is differs with the types of schools; such as private high schools and science high schools students think it's very high,anatolian high school students think it's average; where as normal high school and technical high school students think that it's poor. The views of the students ;that the geography lessons procedure is only done by teachers' telling and dominancy, differs with the variable school types.Private high schools' students totally disagree on the idea that the geography lessons are only done by the teachers' telling and dominancy. The opinions of students about the usage of technological instruments in class differs with the variable school type and it's concluded that private high school students and science high school students are benefiting from the technological instruments more than normal and technical high school students do.
