Özet

ÖZET TÜRKİYE İMALAT SANAYİNDE TEKNOLOJİK FAALİYETLERİN ETKENLERİNİN BELÎRLENNESİ DEVRAN, YELDA ŞUBAT, 1389 Az gelişmiş ülkelerde, teknolojik değişimin kaynağı yerel ve yabancı teknik bilgidir. İthal teknolojinin bu ülkelere sağladığı avantajlar ve dezavantajlar son 10 yıl boyunca geniş bir şekilde incelendiği halde bu ülkelerdeki teknik bilgi oluşumuna ve teknolojik değişim sürecinin incelenmesine gereken önem verilmemiştir. Ekonomik büyümeye, dolayısıyla endüstrilenmeye direk etkisi kabul edilmiş olan teknolojik değişim sürecinin incelenmesi ve ilgili literatürdeki boşluğu doldurulması bu tezin ana amacıdır. Bu nedenle az gelişmiş ülkeler'deki teknolojik değişimin ve yerel teknik bilgi oluşumunun nedenleri, şekil, ve sonuçları dikkatle incelenmiştir. Az gelişmiş ülkelerde teknoloji, teknolojik değişim ve yerel bilgi oluşumu konusunda bugüne kadar gelen literatür Türkiye imalat sanayindeki 868 büyük firmayı kapsayan araştırmanın teorik zeminini oluşturmak amacıyla anlatılmıştır. Çalışmanın amprik bölümünde Türk firmalarının teknolojik çabalarının ne denli sistematik olduğu ve firma faaliyetleri içerisinde bu çabaların önem ve boyutlarının neler olduğu diğer ülkeler ile karşılıştırmalı olarak sunulmuştur. -iv-

ABSTRACT DETERMINANTS OF INDIGENOUS TECHNOLOGICAL EFFORTS IN TURKISH MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY DEVRAN, YELDA PIASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION FEBRUARY, 1989 Technological change (TC) in less developed countries (LDCs) is based on technical knowledge coming from foreign and from local sources. The importation of foreign technology - its advantages and shortcomings- has been extensively examined during the last decade. Much less attention, however, has been paid by the authorities to the process of TC and domestic technical knowledge generation taking place in LDCs. This study is carried out for the filling a gap in the Turkish literature on the topic of TC process- a process which has long accepted as an element of industrialization. Thus, the sources, nature and consequences of TC and of indigenous technical knowledge generation in LDCs are determined to be the major areas of concern. First of all, in order to sat up the theoretical background of research results received literature on technology, TC, and technology generation as from the perspective of LDCs is reviewed. In the empirical part of the study, the findings of the research carried out among 668 manufacturing enterprises across industries in Turkey regarding their technological search activities and, the importance and degree of their efforts are presented. -iii-
