SUMMARY The social security implementations of the women are firstly commenced in Turkey in 1949 by Emekli Sandığı Kurumu. This institution is obtaining invalidity, old age, death and health insurance for the government officers women and their dependants. Second social security institution which is provide assistance to the women is Sosyal Sigortalar Kurumu established in 1964. This institution's enforcements began by application of the employment injuries and occupational diseases, maternity insurance for woman employees working under labour contract. Also in 1983 women working discontinuously in agricultural sector under labour contract were taken under coverage by the Sosyal Sigortalar Kurumu. These implementations were followed by application of the invalidity, old age, death and sickness insurances. It is include six insurance now. The social insurance implementations have been developed since the commencement years (1946) of their validity up to present and have reached to their contemporarily levels. But the development is carrying on. Third social security organization about the women social security is Bağ-Kur established in 1979. \t covers self employed and artisans women. Bağ-Kur used to have three types of insurance until the introduction of health insurance scheme in 1985. Since then Bağ-Kur has been giving benefits and assistance to its members at four different insurance fields. Those categories of insurance can be classified as invalidity, old age, death and health insurance. Every one of the institutions has different benefits and this may cause several complexities in application. Because conformity in norms and standards have not 175been established. This is the main problem in Turkish social security scheme. However, our scheme is facing with not only legal problems but also with several important financial obstacles. We hope that, new statutes prepared by the TC. Çalışma ve Sosyal Güvenlik Bakanlığı, can take into consideration this problem and are able to solve. 176
