- 25 - ÖZET Bu çalışma Türkiye'nin değişik bölgelerinde »İstanbul' a getirilen mandaların kesildiği bazı mezbahalarda yapıldı* Mezbahalara 15.2.1984- 15.12*1984 tarihleri arasında ve haftada 2 gün olmak üzere düzenli bir şekilde gidildi. Burada kesilen 22'si (# 3,07) dişi, 695'i (İ 96,93) erkek, 1,5-15 yaşları arasında toplam 717 mandanın hidatik kist yönün*» den muayenesi yapıldı ve 160' inin (# 22,32) enfekte.olduğu saptandı. Muayene edilen erkek mandaların İ» 20,14 'ünün, dişi mandaların ise # 90- 91* inin hidatik kist taşıdığı kaydedildi. Erkek mandalardan 1-2 yaşında olan 169* unun (# 24,32) hiç birinde ekinokok kistine rastlanmadı» Tine erkek mandalardan 3-5 yaş arasındaki 306 mandanın 75 'i (# 24,51), 6-8 yaş grubundaki 215 mandanın 61» i (tfo 28, 37) t 9 yaşlarındaki 5 mandanın 4*ü {$> 80) ve dişilerden 7*-15 yaşları -arasındaki 22 mandamn SO^si if» 90 1 91) hidatik kistli bulundu. - 27 - SUMMARY - vmSifmmm »matt* ı I in ı Hydatidosis of tfee- Water Buffaloes This research, is carried out in several slaughterhouses in Istanbul in whieh water buffaloes (Bubelus bi&alis kina&a-is, 1?58) tsrow^rfc from several regions of Turkey are slaughtered. We went to the slaugh terhouse's regularly twice each week from 15 #2.1984 to 15.12.1984. We examined the water buffaloeSy^otally 717, aged between 1.5-15, ?2 of them (3.07 ^)yfemale, 695 (96.93 >)vmale, who aro slaughtered, with re gard to hydatid cyst and we determined that 160 of them (22.32 #) were infected. We recorded that 20.14 $> of the male water buffaloes examined and 90.91 f° of the female water buffaloes examined had hydatid cysts* We have not seen echinoooccus cysts in any of the 169 male buffaloes, aged 1-2» (24.32 #). Furthermore, hydatid cysts have been seen in 75 (24.51 İo) of 306 male buffaloes aged 3-5, in 61 (28.37 #) of 215 male buffaloes aged 6-8, in 4 (80 $) of 5 buffaloes aged about 9 and in 20 (90,91 #) of 22 female buffaloes aged 7-15. Only the lungs in 85 (53.13 1°) of 160 buffaloes and only the livers in 56 (35 #) of them were infected. It ^3S,determined that both of the organs were cysted in 19 (11.87 #) of them. Totally 439 hydatid cysts were obtained in all of these buffa loes. 231 (52,62 fo) of the/ns are found in the lungs, and 208 (47.38 $) of theof are found in the livers. It drew our attention that the cysts were ntonerous in the livers of 9 of the infected buffaloes and in the lungs of the 2 of them,. Tho fbatu-ffoo of the cysts were usually round wr- -ft&&?fu'- -r^u/k^L The hydatid cysts found in the livers and lungs were exami ned macroscobically. And it was seen that some of them wc/sia^a normal features, and some of them were degenerated. It was seen that usually the cysts in the livers were calsified and the cysts in the lungs were«. 28 «* oazeificated. It was determined that the dimensions of the cysts âege«- nerated in both of the organs were the same' and were“between 0.4 and 2.5 cm. ön the other hand, it was also seen that the cysts with greater dimensions were oazeificated or calsified, too. It was found out that both normal and degenerated cysts were present in the same organ. As ”bfefe- result of the microscobic examination of the cysts, it was seen that there was gerrainative membrane inside and that there was lamello- se cuticular layer oust ide and also that the host tissue was surrounding this layer belonging to the parasite. The average density value of the cyst fluids is calculated as 1007. It was understood that 143 (32.57 f°) of the hydatid cysts seen in both of the organs were fertile and 296 (67.43 #) of them were ste rile and also that the fertility rate was higher in the lung cysts than that in the liver cysts. It was seen that the cyst dimensions grew iir older animals and. that the fertility was high in cysts with 5 cm. or higher dimensions. The numbers of the alive and dead protoscolices in 1 ml. of the cyst fluid belonging to the fertile cysts were calculated. It was de termined that the viability rate of the protoscolices was lower than 60 # in 9 of the cysts in the lungs, it was between 60 and 100 $> in 53 of them, it was lower than 60 % in 5 of the cysts in the liversy^it was between 60 and 100 # in 29 of them. Furthermore, the protoscolices were dead 100 # in 25 fertile cysts in the lungs and in 22 fertile cysts in the livers. The alive protoscolices were measured and it was seen that the average,.dimensions of ? X We have undesto them were 156 urn x 122,2 urn. V* We have undestood that the hydatid cysts found in the liver of a buffalo which were at first in the appearance of multilocular cysts were multicystic cysts, not multilocular cysts^i +h' : '',^cn. We could not examine the kidneyp systematically within our rese arch, but we found some hydatid cysts in the kidneys of a buffalo.
