Özet

istatistik analiz yöntemlerinin eğitim ve öğretimde kullanımı ÖZET İstatistik, bir sonuç çıkarmak için olguları yöntemli bir şekilde toplayıp sayı olarak belirten bilim dalıdır ve günümüzde birçok alanda kullamlmaktadır. Üniversite ve çeşitli kuruluşların araştırma merkezlerinde, işletme ve iktisat alanlarında, rehberlik, bilgi-işlem, ölçme ve değerlendirme birimlerinde, siyasi seçim tahminlerinde, enflasyon ve sigorta primi v.b. değerlerin hesaplanmasında istatistiksel tekniklerden yararlanılır. Eğitim ve öğretim alanında da birçok yönden istatistik biliminden faydalamlmaktadır. Bu çalışmanm amacı istatistiğin uygulama alanlarında nasıl kullanılabileceğine dair bir örnek sunabilmektir.Bu doğrultuda,eğitim alam uygulama alam olarak seçilmiştir. iki bölümden oluşan çalışmanm birinci bölümünde, istatistikte önemli yeri olan analiz metodlarmdan, t testi, tek yönlü ve çift yönlü varyans analizi, Pearson korelasyon analizi, regresyon analizi, ki-kare testi, Mann- Whitney- Wilcoxon testi, Wilcoxon işaretli sıralar testi ve Spearman sıra korelasyon testi temel özellikleri verilerek ve yer yer matematiksel ispatlarına da değinilerek açıklanmaya çalışılmış ve birer örnekle uygulamalarının nasıl olduğuna açıklık getirilmiştir. Çalışmanm ikinci bölümünde ise, uygulama alam olarak seçilen eğitim alanından, iki örneğe yer verilmiştir. Birinci örnek olarak, Şeyh Şamil Lisesi lise birinci sınıf öğrencileri seçilmiş; bu öğrenciler üzerinde matematik başarısını etkileyen etkenlerin belirlenmesine ve basan istatistiği yapılmasına çalışılmıştır.Bu amaçla, öğrencilerin matematik başarısını etkilemesi muhtemel olan bazı etmenlerin ve kişisel bilgilerinin öğrenilmesi için 37 sorudan oluşan bir anket hazırlanmıştır. Ek P de sunulmuş olan bu anket 250 kişiden oluşan Şeyh Şamil Lisesi lise birinci sınıf öğrencilerinden 21 3 'üne ulaşılarak uygulanmıştır.Elde edilen verilere, okul yönethninin izni ile, öğrencilerin birinci ve ikinci dönem matematik başarılarım ve yıl sonu basanları gösteren matematik dersi notlan ve matematik başansı ile aralannda ilişki bulunabileceği muhtemel olan fizik ve kimya dersi notlan da eklenerek, veriler uygun analiz yöntemleriyle değerlendirilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde SPSS istatistik programından yararlanılmıştır, t-testi ile kız ve erkek öğrenci gruplan arasında, matematik başansı, ders uyumu ve sınav uyumu açısından farklılık olup olmadığı; sınıflar arası basanlar arasında farklılık olup olmadığı incelenmiştir. Tek yönlü varyans analizi ile derse ilginin, düzenli ders çalışmanm, derste iyi not tutabilmenin, ders çalışma ve takviye yöntemlerinin başanya olan etkileri incelenmiştir. Çift yönlü varyans analizinin uygulaması olarak, cinsiyet ile takviye yönteminin bir arada basan üzerinde anlamlı bir farklılaşmaya neden olup olmadığı incelenmiştir. Ki-kare testi ile; matematik başansı ile cinsiyet, ikamet yeri, ders çalışma süresi, ders çalışma yöntemi, anne-babamn eğitim durumu arasındaki ilişkiler incelenmiştir. Aynca matematik dersine duyulan ilgi ile cinsiyet ve matematik temeli düzeyi arasındaki ıxilişkiler ve ders çalışma yöntemi ile cinsiyet arasındaki ilişki de ki-kare testiyle incelenmiştir. Pearson korelasyon analizinin uygulaması olarak, matematik dersi birinci ve ikinci dönem notlan arasındaki ilişki,matematik notu ile ders ve sınav uyum puanlan arasındaki ilişkiler, matematik başansı ile fizik ve kimya başanlan arasındaki ilişkiler incelenmiştir. Regresyon analizi ile matematik notunun, ders ve smav uyum puanlarına göre, fizik ve kimya dersleri basan notlarına göre, bir de birinci dönem matematik notu, cinsiyet ve takviye yöntemine göre tahminin yapıldığı uygulamalara yer verilmiştir. Bu çalışmada incelenen ve parametrik olmayan analiz yöntemlerinden olan, Mann- Whitney- Wilcoxon, Wilcoxon işaretli sıralar ve Spearman sıra korelasyon testlerinin uygulamadaki kullanımlarını gösterebilmek amacı ile, İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi öğrencilerinden, Calculus 101E dersini alan 95 kişilik bir öğrenci grubu, ikinci örnek grubu olarak seçilmiştir. Bu öğrencilerin, cinsiyetleri, hangi fakülte öğrencisi olduklan, calculus dersi vize ve final notlan ile dönem boyunca yapılan ödevlerden aldıklan notlar analizde kullanılacak veriler olarak toplanmıştır. Eldeki veriler kullanılarak kız ve erkek öğrencilerin, vize ve final notlan ve ders başanlan arasında fark olup olmadığı, başarının fakültelere göre anlamlı bir değişim gösterip göstermediği Mann- Whitney- Wilcoxon testinin uygulaması olarak incelenmiştir. Wilcoxon işaretli sıralar testi kullanılarak vize ve final notlan, ödev ve final notlan ile vize sorularından alman puanlar arasındaki ilişkiler incelenmiştir. Spearman sıra korelasyon testinin uygulaması olarak ise vize ve final notu arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesine yer verilmiştir.

USING STATISTICS ANALYSING METHODS IN EDUCATION AND INSTRUCTION SUMMARY Statistics is a kind of science which systematicly collets the materials and turns them into numbers. And it can be said that it is used in every area today. It is generally used at universities and research centers in different areas of statistics, in the area of measurement and evaluation, in the predictions on politics election, in the predictions abaout inflotion. In addition to these different kinds of areas statistics is generally used in the area of education and teaching. The aim of this project is to show how the statistics works in these different areas. For this reason education is choosen as application area. In the first section of this research which is composed of two parts, t-test, one way and two way analysis of variance, Pearson correlations analysis, regression analysis, chi-square test, Mann- Whitney- Wilcoxon test, Wilcoxon signed ranks test and Spearman rank correlation test were used and by using their main properties and their mathematical proofs, they are trying to be made clear. In the second part of this research, two examples are given from the area of education which is choosen to be researched on. In the first example the students from the first class of the high school were choosen and the events which effect their mathematical succsess are trying to be made clear and mathematical statistics are trying to be made. For this reason to be able to learn the effects on the students' succsess and their personal information, a questionare is prepared which is composed of 37 questions. This questionare which is shown on- add I- is applied to 213 students. The first class of the high school is composed of 250 students.To the results which is gained from this research, by the permission of the school ministery, the students' first semestre and second semestre math's marks and the marks hich belongs to the end of the year are added and in addition to the their chemistry and physics marks which are thought to have a relationship with their succsess. In the area of maths are also added. And all these results are evaluated by using the suitable analyse methods. In the analyse of these results SPSS statistics program is also used by using the one way analysis of variance, it's trying to be undrstand if the interest on the lesson, studying regularly, taking notes during the lesson have an effect on the succsess. As the application of the two way analyse of variance, it is researched that if the sex and encourage method have an effect on succsess. By using the chi square test, the relationship between success of maths, sex, location, the period of studying, the method of studying, the level of education of the parents is researched. In addition to this, the relationship between the interest for the math's lesson and sex and the relationship between the method of studying and sex is also researched by using the chi-square test. By using the Pearson correlation analysis, the relation between the marks belonging to the first and second semestre, the relation between the adaptation to the math's lesson and math's mark and the XIrelation between the succsess of math's lesson and physics and chemistry lessons are researched.By using the regression method the predictions about the math's mark are made according to the point of adaptation to the lesson and exam, the marks belongin to the physics and chemistry lessons and also according to the math's mark belonging to the first semestre and sex, encourage methods. The methods which are researched in this investigation and which are non parametric are applied to the students which have education in Istanbul Technical University. In order to present how these methods work, a second experimental group which is composed of 95 people is choosen who studies the lesson Calculus 10 IE. The sexes of these students, which faculty they have education, their final exam marks and all the marks they have from their homework are used as a metarial for this analysis. By using the Mann- Whitney- Wilcoxon test, it is trying to be understood if there is a difference between the marks of the male and female students, their success of the lesson and how the success lifted among the faculties. By using the Wilcoxon signed ranks test the marks taken from the final exam, the relation between the marks taken from homework and the final exam is researched. By using the Spearman rank correlation test, the relation between the marks taken from the midterm and the final exam is researched. xu
