Özet
Bu araştırmanının temel amacı; orta öğretim biyoloji öğretmenlerinin araç-gereç kullanım açısından yeterliliklerini ortaya koymaktır. Bu temel amaç doğrultusunda biyoloji öğretmenlerinin bilişsel yeterlilikleri, araç-gereç kullanmaya yönelik tutumları ve görüşleri belirlenmeye çalışılmış ayrıca bilişsel yeterliliklerin, tutumların ve görüşlerin öğretmenlerin değişik özelliklerine göre farklılık gösterip göstermediği araştırılmıştır. Araştırma tarama modelinde olup Türkiye'nin değişik coğrafi bölgelerinden 369 biyoloji öğretmeni örneklem grubuna alınmıştır. Öğretmenlerin bilişsel yeterliliklerini ölçmek amacıyla başarı testi geliştirilmiş olup güvenirliği KR 20 ile hesaplanmış ve güvenirlik katsayısı 0.76 bulunmuştur. Öğretmenlerin araç-gereç kullanmaya yönelik tutumlarını belirlemek amacıyla tutum ölçeği geliştirilmiş, güvenirliği Cronbach a ile hesaplanmış ve güvenirlik katsayısı 0.86 olarak belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca öğretmenlerin yeterlilikleri ile ilgili görüşleri için görüş anketi geliştirilerek kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda, araştırmaya katılan öğretmenlerin araç-gereç kullanımına yönelik olumlu bir tutuma ve araç-gereç kullanımı ile ilgili davranışların % 57,3'üne sahip oldukları belirlenmiştir. Araç-gereç kullanımı ile ilgili bir çok konuda öğretmenler kendilerini oldukça yeterli algılarken, bazı konularda kısmen yeterli algılamaktadırlar. Öğretmenler ayrıca otoklav, etüv, kuluçka makinesi, dataşov ve projektör gibi araçların kullanımı ile ilgili kendilerini az yeterli algılarken yazı tahtası ve mikroskobun kullanımı ile ilgili çok yeterli algılamaktadırlar.

The main aim of this study is to determine the competency of high school biology teachers regarding use of instructional tools in teaching Biology. Within the frame of this aim, biology teachers' cognitive competencies, their attitudes towards instructional tools use and their opinions have been determined. Besides, the cognitive competencies, attitudes and approaches of those teachers have been examined to determine whether different characteristics of teachers affect the process. Survey method has been used in this study. 369 biology teachers from different regions of Turkey have been included in the sampling group. An achievement test to assess the teachers' cognitive competency have been developed. The reliability of this test has been calculated by KR 20 and the reliability coefficient has been found as 0.76. The attitude scale, developed to determine teachers' attitudes regarding the use of instructional tools in teaching has been calculated by Cronbach a and the reliability coefficient has been found as 0.86. Moreover, a questionnaire for their opinions have been developed and used. The results have indicated that teachers who participated in the study have a positive attitude toward the use of instructional tools and they have 57.3% of the behaviors that are related to the use of instructional tools. While teachers participated in this study find themselves competent for most of the subjects regarding the use of instructional tools, they find themselves partially competent in some subjects regarding the use of instructional tools. Moreover, the teachers find themselves rarely competent in the use of instructional tools such as autoclave, sterilizer, incubator, data show, or projector whereas they find themselves very competent in using blackboard and microscope.
