Özet
ÖZET Bu araştırmada, ilköğretim ve lise tarih kitaplarında bulunan yer adlarının tarih dersini öğrenmeye etkisi incelenmiştir. Araştırmada deneysel yöntem kullanılarak, yer adlarının vurgulanarak anlatıldığı grupla, yer adlarının vurgulanmadan dersin anlatıldığı grubun başarısı karşılaştırılmıştır. Araştırma denekleri, 2004-2005 öğretim yılında, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Lisesi 10. sınıfa ve Gazi Mustafa Kemal İlköğretim Okulu 7. sınıfa devam eden öğrenciler arasından seçilmiştir. Araştırmada deney ve kontrol gruplarının başarılarını karşılaştırabilmek amacıyla ön test ve son test uygulanmıştır ve aldıkları puanlar hesaplanmıştır. Bu testlerin sonunda aldıkları puanlar dikkate alınarak ortalama ve standart sapmalar bulunmuştur. 7. ve 10. sınıfta eğitim görmekte olan deney ve kontrol grubundaki öğrencilerin ön test-son test puanları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark olup olmadığını belirlemek amacıyla ön testten son teste olan değişimi gruplar bağlamında inceleyen tekrarlı ölçümler için varyans analizi (split plot anova) kullanılmıştır. Grupların deneysel işlem gerekliliğinden dolayı ön test bakımından eşit olduğu t-testi ile gösterilmiş sonrada varyans analizi uygulanıp sonuçlar yorumlanmıştır. Coğrafi mekanların vurgulanarak anlatıldığı grupla, coğrafi mekanların vurgulanmadan dersin anlatıldığı grupların, erişi ortalamaları arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunmuştur.

11 ABSTRACK İn this research, the effect of the names of places in the history books of primary school and high school, to learn history, is studied. İn the research experimental method is used and the success of the group to whom the effect of the names of places is told by emphasizing, is compared with the succes of group to whom the lesson is studied by the names of places are not emphasized. Subjects of the experiment are choosen among the students of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Lisesi 2004-2005 years of 10th class ant 7th class students. İn the research to compare the success of the groups of experiment and control, preliminary test and final test are put into practice and their points are counted. after these tests their points are keep in mind and average and standard deviation are found. In the research to find whether there is a meaningful- istatistical difference between preliminary test and final test points or not made by the students of 7th class and 10th class that they are the groups of experiment and control, they use varyance analistic. (split plot anova ) T-test is put into practice to find out that whether there is a meaning ful difference between the points of preliminary and final tests of experiment group and control group. As a result of this t-test, a meaningful difference is found between the reaching average of groups, the one to whom the names of places is told by emphasizing and the other to whom the lesson is studied by the names of places are not mentioned.
