Özet
II ÖZET Bu araştırma, bilgisayar destekli kavram haritaları yönteminin ilköğretim okullarındaki öğrencilerin başarısı üzerindeki etkilerini incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemini Zonguldak ilinde bir ilköğretim okulunda öğrenim gören 92 altıncı sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Seçilen 4 tane altıncı sınıf şubesinden rasgele kontrol ve deney grupları oluşturulmuştur. Oluşturulan kontrol ve deney gruplarının denkliği, uygulama öncesi yapılan ön test sonuçlan ve dördüncü sınıf fen ders notlan kullanılarak gösterilmiştir. Arastama 2004-2005 eğitim-öğretim yılı içerisinde 9 hafta boyunca yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada kontrol grubuna geleneksel öğretim metoduyla, deney grubuna ise bilgisayar destekli kavram haritaları öğretim metoduyla eğitim verilmiştir. Deney grubuna,“Canlının İç Yapışma Yolculuk”ünitesinin“Hücre”konusunu anlatmak üzere araştırmacı tarafından bilgisayar ortamında 5 farklı eğitsel oyun hazırlanmıştır. Araştırmanın deneysel olması ve kullanılan eğitsel oyunların araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilmiş olması çalışmanın önemli bir özelliğidir. Araştırmada, veri toplama aracı olarak başarı testi ve tutum algılama anketi geliştirilmiştir. Hipotezleri test etmek için t testi kullanılmıştır. Analiz sonuçlarında, deney ve kontrol grubundaki öğrencilerin başarı düzeylerinde, deney grubunun lehine anlamlı bir fark olduğu görülmüştür. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgular neticesinde“Canlının İç Yapışma Yolculuk”ünitesinin“Hücre”konusunun öğretilmesinde bilgisayar destekli kavram haritaları öğretim yönteminin, geleneksel öğretim yöntemine göre daha etkili olduğu söylenebilir.

Ill ABSTRACT Purpose of the study is to investigate the effect of Computer-Based Concepts Maps on students achievement in the unit of cell structure and function. Nine two 6th grade students participated in the study. 4 branches instructed with the same teacher were randomly assigned as experimental and control groups. The equitability of control and experimental groups selected has been shown with the preliminary test results, made before treatment and using Science course grades in the 4th class. The study was carried out through 9 weeks in 2004-2005 academic year. In the study, control groups received traditional instruction while experimental groups were instructed with computer-based concept maps method. 5 different educational games were prepared from computer by the instructor to explain cell structure and function, to experimental groups. The study, being experimental and the educational games used, being experimental and the educational games used, being developed by the instructor, are significant characteristics of study. In the study, as data collection tool, achievement test and behavior perception questionnaire were developed. By the researcher, the instruments were administered to students in both groups to measure their achievement and behavior perception questionnaire. Independent sample t-test results show that it has been observed that there was a significant difference in favor of experimental group, at the success levels of students in control and experimental groups. As a result of the findings obtained, it can be said that, in teaching cell structure and function, computer-based concept maps teaching method, was more effective than traditional teaching method.
