Özet
ÖZETBu araştırmanın amacı; Kafkas Üniversitesi Kars Meslek Yüksek okuluTurizm Rehberliği Programında uygulanan İngilizce Öğretimi Programınınöğrencilerin gereksinimlerine yönelik olup olmadığını saptamak ve tasarlanacak olanDil Öğretim Programlarına katkıda bulunmaktır.Araştırmada; 60 hazırlık öğrencisi, 22 stajyer öğrenci, 11 meslek dersiöğretmeni ve 9 İngilizce öğretmenine anket uygulanmıştır. Anketler iki bölümdenoluşmaktadır. Birinci bölüm, öğrencilerin Hedef Dil Kullanım Alanı; ikinci bölümise, öğrencilerin öğrenme gereksinimleri ile ilgilidir. Ankete katılan 4 grubun HedefKullanım Alanı ile ilgili algıları belirlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin öğrenme gereksinimleriile ilgili sorular sadece İngilizce öğretmenlerine ve hazırlık öğrencilerineyöneltilmiştir.Toplanan verilerin çözümlenmesi sonucunda; uygulanan dil öğretimprogramının öğrenci gereksinimlerini karşılamada yetersiz kaldığı tespit edilmiştir.Buna bağlı olarak öğrencilerin, İngilizceyi Hedef Kullanım Alanında etkili birşekilde kullanamadığı anlaşılmıştır. Bu sorunun çözümlenebilmesi için, öğrencileringereksinimlerine uygun bir dil öğretim programının daha etkin olması konusundaönerilerde bulunulmuştur.

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study is to investigate whether the English language curriculumapplied in the department of Tourism Guidance at Kars Vocational High School meets theneeds of the students and to contribute to the language teaching programme which will beformed.In the research, 60 preparation students, 22 intern students, 11 teaching staffs and 9English teachers were given questionnaire. The questionnaires consisted of two parts. Thefirst part was related to the Area of Students? Target Language Usage while the second partwas linked to the learning necessity of students. The comprehension of these four groupsabout the Area of Target Usage was decided. The questions linked to the learning necessitiesof students were administered only to English language teachers and preparation classstudents.At the end of analysis of data, it has been observed that the currently appliedlanguage learning programme is quite away from meeting the needs of the students in thedepartment of Tourism and Guidance. In connection with this, it has been understood thatstudents do not use English efficiently in the Area of Target Usage. In order to solve thisproblem new suggestions have been made for a more effective language programme, whichwill be suitable to the needs of the students.
