Yüksek yapıların 1900'lü yıllardan günümüze kadar olangelişimi, birçok araştırmacı ve mimar tarafından farklı yöntemlerleincelenmiştir. Bazıları yüksek binaları stillerine, bazıları ise fonksiyonelgelişimlerine göre sınıflandırmıştır. Bu çalışma kapsamında ise, 1880den başlayarak, erken dönem, modern dönem, geç modern ve günümüzolmak üzere üç başlık altında yüksek yapıların strüktür ve kabuk altsistemlerinin birbirleriyle olan ilişki ve gelişim süreçleri, dönemözelliklerini yansıtan en önemli yapıları ile ele alınmıştır. Seçilen örnekyapıların strüktür-kabuk düzenlemeleri incelenerek, yapılar arasındakarşılaştırmalı analizler yapılarak, strüktür ve cephe sistemleriningelişim doğrultusu ortaya konulmuştur.Bilim Kodu : 804.1.151

Thesis)Aysun ERKEKELGAZ UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYFabruary 2006ABSTRACTThe industrial revolution brought forward advanced materials andadaptation in technology, stretching the buildings taller hence nowknown as 'skyscrapers' which has dramatically affected the silhouetteof the cities. The improvement on high rise buildings since the 1900'shas been investigated in various ways by researchers and architects.Some have considered these structures according to their styles andsome have concentrated on their functional improvements. Under thecontext of these works, starting from the 1800's, the relationshipbetween high rise structures and the 'under-façade' system have beenclassified under 3 main titles: Early, Modern, Geçmodern and present.These have been expressed through buildings that best reflect thequalities of a specific period. The structure-façade arrangement of thechosen examples has been analyzed and comparisons have been madeamongst the buildings, and the possibilities of bringing the mostfrequently used systems together will be brought forward.Science Code : 804.1.151
