Özet

The aim of this study is to determine the crisis preparedness level of High Schools in the Province of Edirne by analyzing the views of school principals, vice principals and teachers on crisis management and the studies done at schools on this subject. The interview technique is used in the research and content and descriptive analysis are also preferred as data analysis techniques. In the first part of the study, the problem, the aim and the importance of the research are mentioned. In the second part, the concepts of crisis, crisis planning and crisis management are underlined and the subjects of crisis in school, crisis planning in school and crisis management in school are explained. Crisis situations that are most probable for schools to face are defined and a ?Crisis Management Plan? is prepared. In the third and fourth parts, the method of the research and the findings obtained as a result of interviews made with the managing staff and teachers in the schools are mentioned and certain comments are made. In the final section, the results of the research are explained and certain suggestions are made for the managing staff of the schools by the help of these results. İlköğretim okullarında, çatışma türlerini çözümlemek için yöneticiler tarafından sırasıyla; tümleştirme, ödün verme, hükmetme-üstünlük kurma, uzlaşma ve kaçınma yöntemleri kullanılmaktadır.

The intent of this study is to find out the types of the conflicts that take place between the teaching personnel in primary schools in the city of Edirne and to determine administrators? solution strategies to these problems. The universe of the search model consists of 167 state primary school administrators, who perform their duties in the city of Edirne under the authority of Ministry of Education. The sample set of the study consists of 70 state primary school administrators who perform their duties in the city of Edirne. A questionnaire has been build by the researcher to gather the raw data. SPSS software has been used in the analysis of the obtained data. To examine the data; frequency, percentage, arithmetic average, standard deviation, variance and t-test have been studied. A level of 0.05 has been taken as a basis in the Chi Square significance test. The research results have been discussed below: In terms of the dimensions of the conflict for the state primary schools: Functional conflict has been observed more often compared to the dysfunctional conflict; however, they both took place occasionally. In terms of the stages of conflicts: It is observed that latent conflict, felt conflict and manifest conflict found to be always happening. Regarding the parties involved: While the interpersonal conflict, group to individual conflict and conflict between organizations found to be always happening, intrapersonal conflict and conflict between groups took place occasionally. Concerning the place of the conflict in the organization: Expertise conflict took place less frequent than vertical conflict, horizontal conflict and social conflict. In primary schools the methods of integration, compromise, dominating, compromising, and avoiding have been used by the administrators in respective order.
