Özet

Bu çalısma, cografya ögretiminde egitim yardımcı malzemelerinin(EYM) ve cografya dersinin islenmesi için özel olarak tasarlanmıs cografyalaboratuvarı kullanımının önemini ortaya koymak amacıyla yapılmıstır.Bu arastırmayı yapabilmek için Ankara $linde bulunan altı özel, altıdevlet okulu olmak üzere toplam 12 okulda cografya ögretmenlerine bir anketuygulanmıstır. Ankete 21 ögretmen katılmıs, uygulanan anketin geçerliligi vegüvenilirliginin analizi için anket önceden deneme lisesinde görev yapan 6ögretmene uygulanmıs, bu uygulama sonucunda anketin 14 madde halindeuygulanmasına devam edilmistir. Elde edilen sonuçların analizinde Word veExcel programlarından yararlanılarak grafik ve çizelgeler olusturulmustur.Arastırma sonucunda elde edilen sonuçlar sunlardır:1. Cografya dersi bir ?ezber dersi? degildir. Materyal kullanımıaçısından incelendiginde bir çok derse göre daha çok görseldestege ihtiyaç duyulan bir derstir.2. Cografya ögretmenleri çesitli olumsuzluklar nedeniyle derslerindeyeterince ve çesitli materyal kullanamamaktadırlar.3. Egitim yardımcı malzemeleri uygun ortamlarda muhafazaedilememektedir. Bunun sonucu olarak yıpranmakta ve miadındanönce kullanılamaz hale gelmektedirler.4. Arastırmaya katılan 21 ögretmenin tamamı okullarında bir cografyadershanesi bulunmasını istemektedir.5. Arastırmanın yapıldıgı 12 okulda cografya dershanesi bulunmaoranı (%17) ile son derece düsüktür.6. Cografya dersi cografya dershanesinde yapıldıgında ögrencibasarısı ve cografya dersinin sevilme oranı yükselecektir.

Aim of this study is to demonstrate the importance of supplementaryeducational materials and specially designed geography laboratories forgeography education.Geography teachers from 12 schools (six private and six public) inAnkara were surveyed for his research. A questionnaire was administered to21 teachers. In order to analyze the validity and reliability of the survey, thequestionnaire at first was administered to 6 teachers working for DenemeHigh School and as a result of this is administration, it was decided tocontinue the questionnaire with 14 questions. In the analysis of the results,graphs and charts were produced using Word and Excel softwares.Following results obtained from the survey:1. Geography lesson is not a ?memorization lesson?. If we examinethe material usage, it will be seen that the need for visual supportin geography lessons is greater than many other lessons.2. Geography teachers can not use adequate and diverse materialsin their lessons because of various problems.3. Supplementary educational materials are not kept in suitableenvironments. As a result, materials wear and become unusableprematurely.4. All of the 21 teachers participated in the survey demanded ageography classroom in their schools.5. Among the 12 schools covered in the study, rate of presence of ageography classroom is very low (%17).6. Having geography lessons in geography classrooms will increaseperformance of the students and popularity of the lesson.
