Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, ortaöğretim coğrafya programında yer alan yerleşmekonularının öğretiminde işbirliğine dayalı öğrenmenin uygulandığı deney grubuile geleneksel öğretim yönteminin uygulandığı kontrol grubu akademik başarılarıarasında anlamlı farklılıkların olup olmadığını test etmektir. Bu amaçdoğrultusunda Ankara İli, Mamak İlçesi, Niğbolu Lisesi 11. sınıflarından birideney, biri kontrol grubu olacak şekilde iki sınıf tespit edilmiştir. Örneklemgrubunu oluşturan toplam öğrenci sayısı 81'dir.Deney grubunu oluşturan 40 öğrenci beşer kişilik 8 takıma ayrılmıştır. Hertakım kendi içerisinde ünite konularını paylaşmıştır.Farklı takımlarda aynıkonuları alan öğrenciler uzmanlık gruplarını oluşturmuşlardır.Uzmanlıkgruplarında konularını tam olarak öğrendikten sonra kendi takımlarına konularınıanlatmışlardır.Uygulama 4 hafta sürmüştür.Kontrol grubundaki 41 öğrenciye ise ünite konuları klasik öğrenmeyöntemleriyle anlatılmıştır.Deney ve kontrol gruplarına ünitenin başında ve sonunda başarı testiuygulanmıştır.Uygulama sonucunda belirtilen yöntemlerin coğrafya öğretimindeakademik başarı üzerindeki etkisinin anlamlı olup olmadığını belirlemek için ttestindenyararlanılmıştır. Yapılan t-testi sonucunda işbirliğine dayalı öğretimyöntemlerinin uygulandığı deney grubundaki öğrencilerin akademik başarıları ile,geleneksel öğrenme yöntemlerinin uygulandığı kontrol grubundaki öğrencilerinIIakademik başarıları arasında deney grubunun lehinde anlamlı düzeyde farklılığınolduğu görülmüştür. Bu sonuç bize işbirliğine dayalı öğretim yönteminin,geleneksel öğretim yöntemine göre coğrafya öğretiminde akademik başarıyıarttırmada daha etkili olduğunu göstermektedir.

The purpose of this study is to exam whether there exist significantdifferences between the achievement of experimental group using cooperativelearning methods and that of control group using traditional book based teachingmethod in ?settlement issues? placed in the curriculum of the secondaryeducation. Fort his aim two classes of 11th grade students one as the experimentand the oter as the control group has been determined from the NiğboluSecondary School in Mamak Ankara. The Total number of the students who fromthis example group is 81.40 students form the experiment group.They seperated in to 8 teams.Oneteam contains 5 students. Unit topics have shared between each teammembers.The students,which take the same,topics,formed the specializationgroups.After,they exactly learned their topics in specialization groups,theyteachedwhat they learned to their team members.This,application takes 4 weeks.The unit topics teached by clasical teaching methods to the 41 control groupstudents.Asuccess test applied to both experimentgroup and control group students atthe beginning,and at the end,of the unıt.t-test was used in order to see the tangible effects of the applied methods onthe academic achievements of instructions of geography. Result of the studyindicated a significant difference between the achievements of the experimentalIVgroup applied cooperative learning method and the achievement of the controlgroup applied conventional learning method was in favor of the experimentalgroup.
