Özet
ÖZET Bu araştırmanın temel amacı örtük ve açık bellek sistemlerini ortaya çıkar mak ve bu sistemleri etkileyen etkenleri belirlemektir. Bu doğrultuda, yönerge, kodlama ve sunum türü değişkenlerinin yeni kurulan çağrışım puanlarına etkisi tek bir deneysel desen içinde test edilmiştir. Araştırmaya Hacettepe Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi birinci sınıf öğrencilerinden toplam 80 denek (40 kız, 40 er kek) katılmıştır. Denekler bireysel olarak sırasıyla, çalışma, ara faaliyet ve test aşa malarına tabi tutulmuşlardır. Ölçümlerin değerlendirilmesinde varyans analizi ve Tukey testi teknikleri kullanılmıştır. İstatistiksel analizlerin sonuçlarına göre, yönerge ve kodlama türü değişken leri yeni çağrışımlar kurma performansını etkilerken; sunum türü, performansı et kilememiştir. Farklı yönerge türlerinin yeni kurulan çağrışım puanları üzerindeki etkisi, kodlama türüne bağlı olarak değişmiştir. Benzer şekilde, farklı yönerge tür lerinin yeni kurulan çağrışım puanlan üzerindeki etkisi, sunum türüne bağlı ola rak da değişiklik göstermiştir. Buna karşılık, kodlama türünün yeni kurulan çağrı şım puanlan üzerindeki etkisi, sunum türüne bağlı olarak değişmemiştir. Diğer ta raftan, farklı yönerge türlerinin yeni kurulan çağnşım puanlan üzerindeki etkisi nin kodlama ve sunum türüne bağlı olarak değiştiği görülmüştür. Bu doğrultuda, örtük bellek bilginin yapısal özelliklerine duyarlı olan ve gör sel sunumdan etkilenen bir sistemdir. Buna karşılık, açık bellek bilginin anlamsal özelliklerine duyarlı olup işitsel sunumdan etkilenmektedir. Sunulan çalışmada, bilgilerin farkında olmadan hatırlanması şeklinde tanım lanan örtük bellek konusunun, çağdaş yaşamın değişik alanlarındaki önemi vurgu lanmış ve konuyla ilgili olarak literatürde rastlanan yöntemsel problemler irdelen miştir.

ABSTRACT The basic objective of this research is to bring to light the implicit and explicit memory systems and to determine the factors that are influencing these systems. In this direction, the influence of the instruction, coding and presentation type of variables on the scores of newly acquired associations were tested within a single experimental design. A total of 80 subjects (40 females, 40 males) from the first year students at the Hacettepe University, Faculty of Letters, participated in the research. The subjects, as individuals, underwent study, intermediary activity and test stages, respectively. The analyses of variance and the Tukey test techniques have been used for evaluation of the measurements. In accordance with the results of the statistical analyses, while the instruction and coding type of variables were influencing the performance of newly acquired associations, the presentation type was not influencing the performance. The influence of different instruction types on the scores of newly acquired associations changed in connection with the coding type. In a similar manner, the influence of different instruction types on the scores of newly acquired associations also displayed changes in connection with the presentation type. As opposed to this, the influence of the coding type on the scores of newly acquired associations did not change in connection with the presentation type. On the other hand, it was observed that the influence of different instruction types on the scores of newly acquired associations changed in connection with the coding and presentation type. In this direction, implicit memory is a system that is sensitive to the structural characteristics of information and that is influenced by the visualpresentation modality. As opposed to this, explicit memory is sensitive to the semantic characteristics of information and is influenced by the auditory presentation rnodality. In the study presented, the subject of implicit memory that is defined in the manner of the recollection of information without being aware of it and whose importance has been stressed in different fields of contemporary life and related to the subject, the methodical problems that are encountered in the literature have been considered at length.
