SUMMARY The peoples' training field which could be considered a new era being a reserach field, requires a research study covering various aspects.. However, some research studies have been conducted in various topics of the peoples' training field to this date, but there has been (nothing related to skilled insructorSj on the other hand there have been some research studies covering personnel matters. The research study made concerning the skilled instructors“ The Place and Problems of Skilled Instructors Within the Peoples Training Field”has been the result of the requirement for research study. The general purpose of this reseacrh study is to bring forward some of the problems with which skilled instructors- have been faced and to develop some suggestions finding solutions to the same. The research study which has been made through use of scanning method covers the skilled instructors who ocuupy positions on full-time and part-time basis in the peoples' training centers in Turkey. The Province of Ankara has been selected as the pilot study region, and efforts have been made to establish contacts with all the full-time and part-time skilled instructors who a.r& employed by the nine peoples' training centers located within the province municipality limits, and the way to take samples has not been preferred. In the course of the study the information obtained from the 24 full-time and 435 part-time skilledinsructors totalling to 450 has been reviewed and their frequencies have been established in the form of tables. The significant results obtained through the studies are as fol lows: - The skilled instructorship appears to be a profession of woman. - More than half of the instructors are lycee' graduates from the standpoint of training level. - The skilled instructorship appears to be a non permenant duties and having no security for future due to the fact that majority of them is employed on part-time and low wage basis. - The majority of the skilled instructors have a service longevity less than six years. - All the skilled instructors have not been undergone peoples' training courses in the course of their previous training and education. - Most of the skilled instructors have attended on the job training courses for a period of time less than one (1) month. - On the job training courses &re intensified in teching methods and information concerned with their branches. - The half of the places where the courses are conducted are provided by the peoples' training centers, the rest of it is provided by the skilled instructors. - The half of the places where courses are conducted is inadequate in view of the sanitary conditions, illumination, heating, capacity and maintenance of tools and equipment.- The subjects for which training center directors and the guide teachers assistance to the skilled instructors appears to be different. The center directors provide assistance for tools and equipment and the course place, and the guide teachers provide assistance in the course subjects and relations with the students. - It appears that the skilled instructors have the problems, in the first place, their wages, positions as well as they ars dejected by the teachers and other personnel assigned to the training centers. - Host of the skilled instructors do know the requirements for self denial, flexibility and tolerance in approaching the students due to the special endeavors of the students attending in the courses. - The skilled instructors have the feeling that they are qualified in their fields as required to be possessed by teachers. - Their activities are mainly intensified in branch subjects as it is expected from the on the job training activities. - The requirement for Night University is noted.
