Özet

Psikoloji tarihinde varolan duygu ve heyecan kuramları öyle bir seyir izlemiştir ki; konu gelip duyguların ve heyecanların nesnesinin neliği tartışmasına dayanmıştır. Duyguların ve heyecanların oluşumunu etkileyen süreç, psikoloji tarihinde varolan kuramlarla yeterince temellendirilememektedir. Konu; duyguların ve heyecanların zemininde varolan nesne tartışmasına geldiğinde bu yetersizlik daha da belirginleşmektedir. Tartışmanın; duyguların ve heyecanların zemininde yer alan nesnenin neliği, mekânı, kuruluşu alanına geldiği aşamada felsefi bir yöntemle ele alınması gerekmektedir.Psikoloji tarihinde yer alan duygu ve heyecan kuramları; duyguların ve heyecanların kuruluşunu tam olarak açıklamakta yetersiz kaldığı için; filozofların duyguların kuruluşuna yönelik metafiziksel kuramları üzerinden belli bir nesne anlamlandırılmasına gidilmektedir. Özellikle Descartes ve Spinoza'nın bu yöndeki çalışmaları dikkate alınmaktadır. Ancak bu filozofların duygu-heyecanların nesnesini açıklamakta yetersiz kaldığı noktalar tartışmayı, nesnenin kuruluşunda nesne ve özneye dengeli bir etkinlik-edilginlik sağlayan bir imgelem anlayışına getirmektedir. Bu aşamada Kant'ın nesne kuramı ve özellikle imgelem anlayışı ön plana çıkarılmaktadır. Bu çalışma dört ayrı bölümden oluşmaktadır. Çalışmanın ilk üç bölümünde; duygunun ve heyecanın oluşumuna ilişkin psikoloji tarihindeki kuramların ve filozofların metafiziksel kuramlarının, duygunun ve heyecanın zeminindeki nesnenin kuruluşu aşamasında yetersiz kalışı vurgulanmaktadır. Bu yüzden dördüncü bölümde Kant'ın imgelem yetisi ele alınmaktadır. Sonuç bölümünde, ilk dört bölümden hareketle, yapılacak çalışmalar için yeni bir yol önerilmektedir.

Emotion and excitement theories in the history of psychology have developed in such a manner that the discussions mainly focus on what the status of the objects of emotions and excitiments are. We defend that the process which effects the formation of emotions and excitiments has not been sufficiently explained by the prevailing theories of psychology. When the subject comes to the discussion of the objects lying at the basis of emotions and excitements, this unsufficiency becomes more apparent. The discussion concerning the being, the place and the constitution of the object of emotions and excitements needs to be pursued within a philosophical perspective.Because the theories of emotion and excitement that are developed within the discipline of psychology fail to completely explain the constitution of the objects of emotions and excitements, some of the metaphysical approaches to the problem within the history of philosophy have been addressed. In this part, the views of Descartes and Spinoza are taken into consideration. Nevertheless, the failure that these theories display especially concerning the maintaining the balance between object and saubject in relation to the activity and the passivity of the subject in experiencing the emotions brings us to a discussion of the constitutive role of imagination. At this point Kant?s views concerning the role of imagination in the constitution of objects are presented. In view of this outline, this study is set up to consist of four sections. In the first three sections of the study it has been stressed that the psychological theories and some philosophers? metaphysical theories concerning the constitution of the objects of emotions and excitements are insufficient. Then, in the fourth section Kant?s view of the faculty of imagination has been discussed. In the conclusion section, a new way of approaching the problem is suggested.
