Özet
Bu çalısma, Jale Tezer koleji ilk okul 4. sınıf ögrencileri arasında yapılmıstır.Çalısmanın amacı ögrencilerin telaffuzlarını oyunlar ve sarkılarla gelistirmek,ayrıca telaffuzun çesitli yöntemler ile gelistirilebilir oldugunu göstermektir.Ögrenciler, telaffuzlarının hangi seviyede oldugunu belirlemek amacı ile bir sesliokuma sınavına tabi tutulmuslardır. Sınav sonucunda elde edilen verilerögrenciler arasında çok belirleyici düzeyde bir basarı farkı olmadıgınıgöstermistir. Daha sonra, ögrenciler arasından rasgele seçtigimiz dokuzar kisilikdeney ve kontrol gurublarını belirledik. Deney grubu ile birinci dönem boyuncahaftada 1 saat isledikleri Ingilizce derslerinde telaffuz alıstırmaları çesitlisarkılarla ve oyunlarla yapılırken, kontrol grubundaki ögrenciler cümlealıstırmaları (dinle ve tekrarla) yöntemi ile ögrenimlerine devam etmislerdir. Buegitim yaklasık olarak dört ay sürmüstür. Egitim sonunda yapılan son testdegerlerinden elde edilen veriler, iki grubun da basarı düzeylerinde bir artısoldugunu, fakat bu artısın Deney grubunda fark edilebilir bir derecede dahafazla oldugunu göstermistir.Kontrol grubu ile deney grubu basarı seviyeleri arasındaki bu belirgin orandakifarklılık da, Ingilizce derslerinde yapılan telaffuz çalısmalarının ögrencilerintelaffuzlarını oyunlarla ve sarkılarla daha fazla gelistirebileceklerini ortayakoymustur.

The purpose of this study is to improve pronunciation of Turkish young learnersat Jale Tezer college, which is necessary in learning English, with various songsand games activities. It is carried out to show that English pronunciation can betaught and improved by using various songs and games.The research has been carried out with the 4th grade primary school students atJale Tezer college. The 4th grade students at Jale Tezer college had a pre-test(read aloud the passage) to assess their pronunciation. As a result of the dataobtained, the experimental and control groups has been decided. The resultshave shown that there is no significant difference between the degree ofsuccess of the two groups and consequently the decision of the experimentaland control groups have been randomly made. There are 9 students in theexperimental group and 9 students in the control group. Pronunciation exercises(songs and games) has been practiced with the experimental group while thestudents in the control group have continued learning using sentence drills onehour in a week during the term and this training has lasted approximately forfour months. The data obtained from the post-test grades taken at the end ofthe training have shown that there is an increase in the success of both of thegroups but the increase in the experimental group is appreciably more than theincrease in the control group. This appreciable difference in the success levelsof the experimental and control groups has show that the songs and gamespracticed in English classes can improve pronunciation of the students.
