Özet

Bu çalışma, ilköğretim 6. Sınıf Fen ve Teknoloji dersi kapsamında ?Vücudumuzdaki Sistemler? ve ?Canlılarda Üreme, Büyüme ve Gelişme? üniteleri ile ilgili portfolyo uygulama sürecindeki öğrenci başarıları ve sınav kaygıları ile öğrenci, veli ve öğretmenlerin portfolyo uygulamasına yönelik görüşlerini saptanmak amacıyla yapılmıştır.Araştırma, biri devlet okulu diğeri özel okul olmak üzere iki okulda, bahar döneminde 108, güz döneminde 108, toplam 216 öğrenci ile yapılmıştır. Bahar dönemi için devlet okulundan 39 öğrenci çalışmanın kontrol grubunu, 39 öğrenci deney grubunu, özel okul öğrencilerinden ise 15 öğrenci kontrol grubunu, 15 öğrenci deney grubunu oluşturmuştur. Güz dönemi için devlet okulundan 44 öğrenci çalışmanın kontrol grubunu, 44 öğrenci deney grubunu oluştururken, özel okul öğrencilerinden ise 10 öğrenci kontrol grubunu, 10 öğrenci deney grubunu oluşturmuştur.Elde edilen nicel veriler SPSS 13 istatistiksel analiz programıyla analiz edilmiş, parametrik gruplarda t- testi, nanparametrik gruplarda ise Wilcoxon ve Mann Whitney U testleri kullanılmıştır. Öğrenci, öğretmen ve velilerin yazdıkları mektuplardan elde edilen nitel veriler ise betimleme, içerik analizi ve yorumlama şeklinde değerlendirilmiştir.Bahar döneminde portfolyo uygulanan deney grubu öğrencilerinin başarısında istatistiksel olarak bir artış görülmezken güz döneminde deney grubu öğrencilerinin başarısında istatistiksel olarak bir artış saptanmıştır. Her iki dönemde de deney grupları ile kontrol grupları arasında öğrenci sınav kaygı düzeylerinde bir fark olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Bütün deney grubu öğrencilerinin portfolyo değerlendirme formuna verdikleri cevaplar ile öğrenci ve veli mektuplarından elde edilen sonuçlar dikkate alındığında çoğunluğun portfolyo uygulamasından memnun olduğu görülmüştür.

The purpose of this study was to determine effectiveness of portfolio on studetns? achievement in ?The Systems of Body Structures? and ?Reproduction, Growing and Development in Living Organism? units in sixth grade science and technology lesson in elementary school, to determine exam anxiety of students, to get ideas from students, teachers, parents on portfolio assessment.The study, in two school, both public school and private school, 108 in the spring semester, fall in the period 108, with a total of 216 students have been made. 39 public school?s students and 15 private school?s students were taken place in traditional assessment group, 39 public school?s students and 15 private school?s students were taken place in portfolio experiment group for spring semester; 44 public school?s students and 10 private school?s students were taken place in traditional assessment group, 44 public school?s students and 10 private school?s students were taken place in portfolio experiment group for fall semester. The data obtained in the study was analyzed by means of SPSS 13 statistical analysis package program. Moreover, t- test were used for parametric groups, Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney U tests were used for non-parametric groups on data analizes. The letters were written by students, teachers and parents were assessed for representation, content analysis and interpretation.As results of research, at spring semester experiment group students? achievement were not increased for statistically significant by using portfolio assessment but fall semester experiment group students? achievement were increased by using portfolio assessment. In both semester there was no significant differences about the text anxiety levels between the experimental group and control group. According to all of the experimental group students? answers to the form of portfolio assessment and the results obtained from students?, parents? letters, the majority was deemed to be satisfied for the portfolio application.
