Özet

Bu araştırma; ?Dünyanın Şekli ve Hareketleri'' ünitesi konusunda hatalı öğrenilen kavramların tespit edilmesi ve bu hataların en aza indirilmesinde öğretim yönteminin etki derecesini inceleyen deneysel bir çalışmadır.Ortaöğretim 9. sınıflarda öğrenmenin sağlıklı bir şekilde gerçekleşmesi için coğrafya öğretmenlerinin anlatım ve soru-cevap yönteminden farklı olarak, bilgisayar destekli öğretim yöntemlerinin uygulanması amaçlanmıştır. Özel bir lisede gerçekleşen bilgisayar destekli coğrafya öğretim yönteminde, kavramların öğrenilmesine yönelik ders etkinlileri tasarlayarak (Animasyon, Power Point, Belgesel, Oyun, Bulmaca vb.) algılama düzeyleri farklı olan örgencilerin dersi kavrama düzeylerini artırma ve temel kavramları doğru öğretmeyi amaçlamaktadır.Araştırma deneysel desen modelinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak başarı testi uygulanmıştır. Geliştirilen ölçme aracı Kütahya da Özel bir lise'de 9. sınıf öğrencilerinden 48 kişiye uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın alt problemlerinin çözümlenmesinde; çift yönlü varyans analizi (repeated measures) yapılmış; frekans, yüzde ve aritmetik ortalama değerleri kullanılmıştır.Deney ve kontrol grubunun deney öncesi ve deney sonrası öntest ve sontest toplam (Dünya'nın Şekli ve Hareketleri ünitesi testi) başarı puanları arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunmuştur. İki ayrı öğretim modelinin uygulandığı deney ve kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin, Dünya'nın Şekli ve Hareketleri ünitesi testine ait başarı puanlarının deney öncesinden sonrasına anlamlı farklılık gösterdiği, yani farklı işlem gruplarında (deney ve kontrol grubu) olmak ile tekrarlı ölçümler faktörlerinin Dünya'nın Şekli ve Hareketleri ünitesi testi başarı düzeyleri üzerindeki ortak etkilerinin anlamlı olduğu bulunmuştur.Bu çalışmada betimsel bir anket çalışması yapılmış ve çalışmanın sonucunda öğrencilerin başarı düzeyleri ile cinsiyetleri arasında, veli eğitimi, veli mesleki ve gelir durumu, kendine ait çalışma odasının olup olmaması ve evinde bilgisayarının olup olmaması arasında anlamlı bir farklılaşmaya neden olmadığı görülmüştür.

This experimental research aims to identify misunderstood concepts in ?The shape and movements of the Earth? and analyses that effect level of method choice in minimizing these misconceptions.In the 9th grade classes, in order to achieve a satisfying learning, it is aimed for geography teachers to use computer based teaching methods in addition to direct method and question-answer method. In this way, it is aimed to increase the understanding level of the students with different perception levels and thus to teach them the basic concepts accurately through such lesson activities as animation, power point, documentaries, games, puzzles, etc.This research was conducted with the experimental design model. Achievement test was used as data collection tool. The test was applied to 48 9th grade students at a private high school in Kütahya. In order to solve the sub-problems of the research, two-way analysis of variance (repeated measures) was done; the values of frequency, percentage and mean were used.There exists a meaningful difference between the pretest and posttest total achievement scores of the experiment group and the control group with respect to the success level of the students in the ?The shape and movements of the Earth? unit. The students in the control group and the experiment group were taught through two different teaching models and their achievement scores belonging to the ?The shape and movements of the Earth? test displayed a meaningful difference. That is, in different function groups (experiment and control groups), the common effects of the factors of repeated measures in the ?The shape and movements of the Earth? unit test?s achievement levels are meaningful.It was also determined in the study that there is a meaningful difference between the success levels and genders of students, parents? education level, occupation and income and whether the student has a computer at home.
