Özet

Bu araştırmanın amacı; ilköğretim 6. sınıf fen ve teknoloji dersinde ?Vücudumuzda Sistemler? ünitesinin öğretiminde, örnek olay destekli 5E modelinin öğrencilerin başarısına ve fene karşı tutumlarına etkisini ortaya çıkarmaktır.Bu çalışmanın örneklemini, Ankara ili, Yenimahalle ilçesi, Emniyetçiler İlköğretim Okulu'nun 6. sınıfta öğrenim gören 40 öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Çalışma 2008-2009 eğitim- öğretim yılı ikinci döneminde yapılmıştır.Araştırmada ön test-son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Kontrol grubunda 5E modeli, deney grubunda ise örnek olaylarla desteklenen 5E modeli Fen ve Teknoloji Öğretim Programı çerçevesinde uygulanmıştır. Fen öğretiminin yaşama yakınlık ilkesi çerçevesinde örnek olay olarak, günlük gazetelerden elde edilen ünite kazanımları ile ilgili gazete haberleri deney grubunun örnek olaylarını oluşturmuştur.Ön test ? son test kontrol gruplu deneysel desen modeline göre ?Vücudumuzda Sistemler Ünitesi Başarı Testi? ve ?Fen ve Teknoloji Dersi Tutum Anketi? uygulamanın başlangıcında ve bitiminde olmak üzere iki kez uygulanmıştır. Sonuçlar SPSS programında analiz edilmiştir. İstatistiksel olarak değerlendirilen sonuçlar, ?Vücudumuzda Sistemler? ünitesinde örnek olay destekli 5E modeli ile yapılan öğretimin öğrenci başarısına ve fene karşı tutumuna yönelik anlamlı bir etkisinin olmadığını ortaya çıkarmıştır.

The purpose of this study is to show the effect of case study based 5E learning cycle on 6th class primary school students? on their attitude towards science courses subjects and on their success while being taught of ?the systems of body structures? units of science and technology courses.The sampling of this study is constructed from the 40, 6th class students of Emniyetçiler Primary School, in Yenimahalle district of Ankara province. The study was realized during the second semester of the 2008 ? 2009 academic year.In this research, an experimental pattern with pretest-posttest-control groups was used. Several practices were performed in the frame of Science and Technology Teaching Program by applying 5E model supported with case study to the experimental group and 5E learning model to the control group. In experimental group, it was used case studies which is selected from newspaper.According to the model of control-group pretest-posttest design with experimental pattern, ?Achievement Test of Unit on The Systems of Body Structures? and ?Attitude Survey on Science and Technology Lesson? were implemented 2 times as at the beginning and at the end of the implementation. Statically evaluated outcomes brought out that the education done with the 5E model supported with case study did not have meaningful impact on student success and his attitude toward science.
