Özet
Bu araştırma, ilköğretim 8. sınıf matematik dersi geometrik cisimlerin yüzey alanları alt öğrenme alanında analoji yöntemine dayalı öğretimin öğrencilerin akademik başarısına etkisini incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır.Çalışma, 2008-2009 eğitim-öğretim yılında Osmaniye ili Düziçi ilçesinde bulunan bir ilköğretim okulunda öğrenim gören 62 öğrenci ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada öntest-sontest kontrol gruplu deneysel araştırma modeli kullanılmıştır. Deney grubunda 29, kontrol grubunda ise 33 öğrenci bulunmaktadır.Deney grubunda dersler analoji yöntemi ile kontrol grubunda ise geleneksel öğretim yöntemi ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın uygulama süreci iki buçuk hafta sürmüştür. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak, araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan başarı testi kullanılmıştır. Başarı testi deney öncesinde (öntest), deney sonrasında (sontest) ve deneyin tamamlanmasından bir ay sonra (kalıcılık testi) olmak üzere üç kez uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler SPSS istatistik programı ile analiz edilmiştir.Araştırma sonucunda, öğrencilerin akademik başarılarını artırmada analoji yöntemine dayalı öğretim ile geleneksel öğretim yöntemi arasında anlamlı bir faklılık çıkmamıştır.

This study was conducted in order to research the effect of teaching surface area of geometric solids unit of the 8th grades? mathematics lesson according to analogy method onto the academic achievements of the students.The study was carried out on 62 students studying at a primary school located in Düziçi, Osmaniye in 2008-2009 academic years. In the study, pre-test ? post-test control group experimental research model was used. There were 29 students in experimental group and 33 students in control group.The lessons were carried out with analogy method on experimental group and with traditional teaching method on control group. The implementation phase of the study was two and a half weeks. In the study, Mathematics Achievement Test developed by the researcher was used as data collection device. Mathematics Achievement Test was applied three times before (pre-test) and after (post-test) the tests and after a month the experiment was completed (persistency test). The collected data were analyzed by the SPSS statistic program.At the end of the study, it is indicated that there is no difference between the teaching based on analogy method and the traditional teaching method in increasing the academic achievements of the students.
