Özet
Amaç: Çalışmamızın amacı Tıp Fakültesi son sınıf öğrencilerinin kardiyopulmoner resüsitasyon konusundaki güncel bilgilerinin ölçülmesi, değerlendirilmesi, kaygı düzeyi ile ilişkisinin ortaya konması ve bunlarla beraber üst bilişsel farkındalığın değerlendirilmesidir. Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırmamızda öğrencilere toplam dört saat süren; üç saati Temel Yaşam Desteği, İleri Yaşam Desteği ve İleri Havayolu Yönetimini içeren teorik ve bir saati de pratik uygulama içeren eğitim verildi. Eğitim öncesi ve sonrasında kardiyopulmoner resusitasyon bilgisini ölçmek için 20?şer sorudan oluşan çoktan seçmeli test uygulandı. Aynı zamanda eğitimden önce ve sonra öğrencilerin kaygı düzeyleri ?durumluk ve sürekli kaygı ölçeği? ile değerlendirildi ve üst bilişsel inanışlarını değerlendirmek için ?üst biliş ölçeği? de uygulandı. Sonuçlar SPSS 15.0 for Windows paket programına kaydedilip istatistiksel olarak değerlendirildi. Bulgular: Eğitim sonrasında öğrencilerin KPR bilgi düzeyi testi puanlarında istatistiksel olarak dikkate değer bir yükselme tespit edildi. Eğitim sonrasında öğrencilerin kaygı düzeylerinde anlamlı bir yükselme saptandı. Kadın ve erkek öğrencilerin KPR bilgi düzeyi testi puanları arasında anlamlı derecede fark saptanmazken; sadece kadınlar söz konusu olduğunda, kaygı düzeyleri, oldukça yüksek bulundu. Kadın ve erkeklerin üst biliş toplam puanları arasında anlamlı fark bulunmamasına karşın, alt ölçeklerden düşünceleri kontrol ihtiyacı açısından, kadınların düşüncelerini kontrol ihtiyacı, erkeklerinkine göre anlamlı derecede yüksek saptandı. Sonuç: Öğrencilerin KPR bilgilerinin sık tekrarlarla her dem taze tutulması gerektiği kanaatindeyiz. Eğitim programı hazırlanırken kadınların kaygı düzeylerinin daha yüksek olduğu göz önünde bulundurulmalıdır. Ayrıca Tıp Fakültesi öğretim üyelerinin üst bilişsel süreçler hakkında bilgi edinip, eğitim ve öğretim uygulamalarını daha etkili hale getirmek için üst biliş becerilerini destekleyici teknikleri kullanmalarının faydalı olacağı görüşündeyiz.

Objective: The aim of the study is to determine the level of cardiopulmonary resuscitation knowledge of sixth year medical students and to examine its relation with the students? anxiety levels and to evaluate their metacognitional awareness. Materials and methods: The students took a four-hour long CPR training, which consisted of a three-hour long theoretical class about BLS, ACLS and further airway management, followed by one hour practice. Before and after the training they were given a 20 multiple-choice questionnaire to evaluate their level of knowledge about CPR. Therewithal, before and after the training process the students? anxiety levels were scored according to the state and trait anxiety inventory. In addition, the metacognition scale was applied to the students to be able to evaluate their metacognitional awareness. SPSS 15.0 for Windows package programme was used for statistical analyses. Results: Having completed the training, a statistically significant increase was determined at the students? CPR knowledge level test scores. Following the training a significant rise was witnessed between the trait anxiety levels of the students. While the students? CPR test scores show no meaningful differences according to their gender; the level of anxiety was found significantly high in female students. While the students? total metacognition scores exhibit no meaningful differences according to their gender, however, the female students? need to control their thoughts was found significantly high. Conclusion: We are in the belief that students? CPR knowledge ought to be kept alive by frequent repetitions. While preparing the training programme it should always be kept in mind that the female students? axiety levels are higher than that of the male students?. We anticipate that the medical academic staff should acquire more knowledge about metacognitional processes and should profit from this knowledge to improve their lectures.
