Özet
Bu çalışma Arnavutluk?ta bulunan Tiran şehrinin fiziki ve beşeri coğrafyasını kapsamlı bir şekilde ele almaktadır. Şehre ait beşeri özellikler ile bu coğrafya arasındaki ilişki irdelenmekte ve nihayetinde bunların çevresel sorunlara etkileri sorgulanmaktadır. Detayda şehrin her bölgesine ait jeolojik, jeomorfolojik ve hidrografik özellikler tezde sunulmaktadır. Bunun yanında, şehrin sosyo-kültürel ve sosyo-ekonomik durumu tarihsel gelişim göz önünde bulundurularak açıklanmaktadır. Son olarak gelişim süreci içinde ortaya çıkan çevresel sorunlar ve bunların beşeri, coğrafi sebebleri ilişkilendirilmiştir. Tiran şehrinin alt yapısı, doğası ve yaşam alanları ciddi bir rehabilitasyon ihtiyacı içinde bulunmaktadır. Şehir, gelişmesine imkân verdiği ve doğal bir gelişme ortamı sunduğu faktörlerin tehdidindedir. Dikey ve hacimsel bazda büyüyen şehre ait tüm olumlu hayat ve doğal ortam şartlarına dair indikatörler düşüştedir. Mevcut durumda nüfusu metropol sınırına yaklaşan şehrin sorunları her açıdan aciliyet arzetmekte ve kalıcı çözümler gerektirmektedir. Bu çalışmada coğrafi unsurlar bir perspektif olarak alınmış ve yukarıda bahsi geçen konular tartşılmış, sebeb sonuç ilişkileri irdelenmiş, ve çözüm önerileri sunulmuştur.

This study focuses on the physical and human geography of Tirana city in Albania. The characteristics of the society and the geography are questioned and then their effects on environmental deterioration are discussed. In detail, geological, geo morphological and hydrographical features that each district of Tirana city has are presented in the dissertation. The socio-cultural and socio-economic situations are correlated by having a historical perspective using geographical arguments. Lastly, the environmental problems and their social/geographical reasons that have occurred during the development process are discussed. The infrastructure, nature and living areas of Tirana city are in need of a serious rehabilitation. The city is under the threat of all those factors, which it led to and which it provided an ordinary evolvement with, for its own progression. All indicators in regards to the urban and natural life of the city, whose construction expands vertically, are in decline. In the current status, the problems of Tirana city, whose population is getting closer to that of a metropolis, require urgency and permanent solutions. In this study, physical geography is assumed as a perspective and the above mentioned are discussed, their root-cause relations are researched, and the probable solutions are suggested.
