Özet (Çeviri)

The perception of migrants is critical to the immigration debate in terms of discourse and outcomes. The fears of economic insecurity that resulted from the huge flow of immigration and great recession are the factors that explain how the contemporary perception of migration is framed in the UK case. The evidence of the impact of legal immigration does not correspond with public perceptions. The evidence is in fact more positive than the negative stereotypes of immigrants and the supposed competition over jobs and welfare. Thus, these perceptions have not resulted mainly from evidence-based knowledge; in particular, public attitudes toward immigrants are based on informed views that often framed and maintained with the help of the media.
