This document considers the main characteristics of post-project reviews to enhance learning activity by collecting lessons learned after projects. A comprehensive research has done about the barriers to project-based learning, the post-project review process, key characteristics of postproject reviews, barriers to learning in post-project reviews and capability maturity model. The literature research facilitated the establishment of various key characteristics of conducting PPRs. It has been acknowledged that plenty of characteristics of PPRs influence their effectiveness. By using the learning from literature, an initial 'post-project review characteristics' model has been created. Initial model characteristics examined by conducting questionnaire surveys and interviews in three leading construction companies in Turkey. The study has acknowledged various characteristics of Construction industry and their effect on the Post-project review model in achieving learning from projects for the promotion of future project successes. Consequently, the characteristics of construction industry reflected to the final model propositions such as, the dynamic environment and the uniquesness of each project activities request for a flexible PPR procedure. To create an effective PPR model: • Main criteria to achieve learning identified. • Key features of the Construction Industry identified. • Literature used to create an initial model by considering identified criterion. • Surveys, questionnaires and interviews are used to revise the model to achieve a more effective format of post-project meetings in construction companies. • Derived conclusions about how post-project meetings should be performed in construction companies in order to acquire the best learning from it.
