153 SUMMARY The aim of present research was to investigate, the relationship between teachers ' showing behaviors which af fect the social development of children and their person ality. In Turkey lack of research on this topic was also a reason to plan this study. Fourty-one preschool teachers in Ankara participated in this study. Personality of sample group was measured by Hacettepe Personality Inventory (HKE) which made up of personal, social and general accomodations. Teacher behav iors which affect the social development of children were observed for five weeks and the results were registered Observation Form of Teacher Behaviors (ÖDGF). The relationships, between showing the teacher be haviors which affect the social development of children and teachers' personality and the variables of age, year of experience and the number of children in the classroom were investigated by means of Kruskall Wallis ANOVA model. No significant difference between the preschool teachers ' behaviors which affect the social development of children and their age, the years of experience, the num ber of children was found (p.> 0.05). Also, no significant difference was found between teachers' personality and their age, the years of experi-154 ence, the number of children (p > 0.05). The relationship between preschool teachers ' showing the behaviors which affect the social development of chil dren, their personality and other variables were examined by Pearson Product Correlation. The weak relationship between teachers ' showing be haviors which affect the social development of children and their age, personality was fixed, but it's not signif icant according to statistics. It was found that the relationship between teachers' behaviors which affect the social development of children and years of experience, the number of children in the classroom didn't exist (p > 0.05). The personality of preschool teachers and every teacher behavior which affects the social development of children were analysed and results have indicated no sig nificant relationship between these variables (p > 0.05).
