Özet

Bu araştırmanın amacı, üstün yetenekli çocukların eğitimi ile ilgili bilim ve sanat merkezlerine (BİLSEM) ilişkin paydaşların görüşlerinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmanın konusu ülkemizde üstün yetenekli çocukların eğitiminde önemli bir yer tutan bilim ve sanat merkezlerinin işleyişidir.Araştırmada, nicel ve nitel veri toplama yöntemleri kullanılarak araştırma sonuçlarını bütünleştiren karma yöntem kullanılmıştır. Bu araştırmada, araştırma grubunu Erzurum Remzi Sakaoğlu Bilim ve Sanat Merkezi'nde öğretimine devam eden öğrencilerin ebeveynleri ve öğretmenleri ile Erzurum ili devlet ilkokullarında görev yapan sınıf öğretmenlerinden tabakalı örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilenler oluşturmuştur. Veri toplama amacıyla araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen anketler ve görüşme formları kullanılmıştır. Hazırlanan anketler geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışmaları yapıldıktan sonra veri toplama amacıyla kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada Remzi Sakaoğlu Bilim ve Sanat Merkezi'nde görev yapan 12 öğretmenle görüşme yapılmış, BİLSEM'de bir ay süreyle gözlem yapılmış, 80 sınıf öğretmeni ve 82 ebeveyne anket uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen nicel verilerin analizinde betimsel istatistikler ve bağımsız örneklemler için t-testi kullanılmıştır. Nitel verilerin analizinde ise betimsel analiz kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada ebeveynler BİLSEM'le ilgili genel olarak olumlu görüş bildirmekle beraber kendileri için yapılan eğitimin yeterli olmadığını belirtmişlerdir. BİLSEM'de çalışan öğretmenler BİLSEM'in öğrencilere katkı sağladığını düşünmektedirler. Fakat eğitim kalitesini düşüren unsurlar bulunduğunu belirtmişlerdir. Sınıf öğretmenleri tanılamanın faydalı olduğunu ancak BİLSEM'in öğrencilerin gelişimine katkısının düşük düzeyde olduğunu belirtmişlerdir. Araştırmacının gözlemlerinde BİLSEM'de verilen eğitimin öğrencilere özgün çalışmalar yapma imkânı vermediği, BİLSEM'de çalışanlar arasında etkili bir iletişimin bulunmadığı sonucuna varılmıştır.

This research is to evaluate the science and art centers related to the education of gifted children in the light of the view of the teachers and parents and the observations of the researchers. The subject of the research is the operation of the science and art centers which take an important place in the education of gifted children.In research as well as qualitative and quantitative methods have been used together eclectic method has been used. In this research, the research group has been consisted of the parents and the teachers of students who have been studying in Remzi Sakaoglu Science and Art Center and from the classroom teachers working in schools of government in Erzurum the ones who have been chosen by the method of strafied sampling. To collect the data the questionnaires developed by researcher, conversation and observation forms have been used. In the research, with the twelve teachers who have been working in Remzi Sakaoglu Science and Art Centre the conversation has been carried on, the observation has been made throughout one mounth, the questionnaire has been applied to 80 classroom teachers and 82 partners. Descriptive analysis was used to analyze the qualitative data.In acquired data analysis, content analysis, frequency, percentage, arithmetical mean, standard deviation and t-test have been used.In the research, beside the partners have generally expressed positive view, they have indicated that the education taken for themselves hasn't been sufficient. The teachers working in BILSEM think that BILSEM contributes to student` s development. But they have been noted that there are elements reducing the quality of education. The classroom teachers have been stated that the diagnose is beneficial but the contribution of BILSEM to students` development is low level. In researcher` s observations the conclusion has been reacehed that the education given in BILSEM doesn't give an opportunity to students to make original works, between the people working BILSEM there isn't effective communication.
