Özet
ÖZET Bu araştırmanın amacı, futumla akademik basan arasındaki ilişkiyi ortaya koymaktır. Bu amaçla; Gülhane Askeri Tıp Akademisi Sağlık Meslek Yüksek Okulu Hemşirelik Bölümünde öğrenim gören 206 hemşire öğrenci alınmıştır. Bu öğrencilerin bölümlerine karşı sahip oldukları tutumları, araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen bir tutum ölçeğiyle belirlenmiştir. Derslerine, öğretmenlerine ve arkadaşlarına karşı öğrencilerin tutumlarını belirleyen bu tutum ölçeğinden elde edilen tutum puanlan, okul yönetiminden temin edilen ortalama akademik basan puanıyla karşılaştırılmıştır. Tarama (Sörevey) tipi bir araştırma olan bu çalışmada, daha öncesinden geçerliliği, güvenirliği ve ayırıcı gücü indeksi test edilen tutum ölçeği içinden, alt problemler doğrultusunda belirlenen 30 cümlelik (maddelik) bir tutum ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Bu tutum ölçeğinde her alt problemle ilgili 10'ar tutum cümleciği (maddeciği) mevcuttur. Öğrencilerin ortalama akademik puanlan ise, okul yönetiminden elde edilen üç (3) dönem notlarının ortalaması alınarak bulunmuştur. Bide edilen tutum puanlarıyla, akademik basan puanlan arasındaki ilişki, Pearson Çarpım Momentleri Korelasyon katsayısıyla araştırılmıştır.“Bir bireye atfedilen ve onun psikolojik objeyle ilgili düşünce, duygu ve davranışlarını düzenli bir biçimde oluşturan eğilim”olarak tanımlanan tutumla, akademik basan arasında saptanan bulgu ve ilişkiler kısaca aşağıda sıralanmıştır. 1. Öğrencilerin derslere karşı tutum puan aralığı 3.53, ortalama akademik başarı notu ise 72.38 olup, öğrencilerin derslere karşıtutumlarıyla akademik başarıları arasındaki ilişki r = 0.23 olarak bulunmuştur. Bu sonuca göre, öğrencilerin derslere karşı tutumları ile akademik başarılan arasında 0.5 manidarlık ve 205 serbestlik derecesine göre anlamlı bir ilişki vardır. 2. Öğrencilerin öğretmenlerine karşı tutum puan aralığı 2.96, ortalama akademik başarı 72.48 olup, öğrencilerin öğretmenlerine karşı tutumlarıyla akademik basanları arasındaki ilişki r = 0.15 olarak bulunmuştur. Elde edilen ilişki katsayısı değerine göre, öğrencilerin öğretmenlerine karşı tutumları ile akademik başarıları arasında 0.5 manidarlık ve 205 serbestlik derecesine göre anlamlı bir ilişkinin olmadığı söylenebilir. 3. Öğrencilerin arkadaşlarına karşı tutum puan aralığı 3.69, ortalama akademik başarı notu ise 72.38 olup, arkadaşlarına karşı tutumlarıyla akademik başarıları arasındaki ilişki ise r = 0.04 olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu alt problem için, öğrencilerin arkadaşlarına karşı tutumlarının yüksek, fakat akademik başarı ile arkadaşlarına karşı tutumlar arasında 0.5 manidarlık ve 205 serbestlik derecesine göre anlamlı bir ilişkinin olmadığı söylenebilir. 4. Öğrencilerin, alt problemlerden elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda, bölümlerine karşı tutumları belirlendiğinde, öğrencilerin bölümlerine karşı 3.39 olarak bulunan tutum aralığıyla 72.38 olan ortalama akademik başarı puanı karşılaştırıldığında, ilişki r = 0.16 olarak bulunmuştur. Bu sonuçlara göre, öğrencilerin bölümlerine karşı tutumları ile akademik başarıları arasında 0.5 manidarlık ve 205 serbestlik derecesine göre anlamlı bir ilişkinin olmadığı söylenebilir. ii

SUMMARY The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between student attitudes and academic achievement. For this purpose 206 nursery students studying at the Gülhane Militery Academy of Medicine constituted the sample of this study. The students' attitudes toward their department (nursery department) was determined by an attitude scale developed by the investigator. The attitude scores of this attitude scale determining the students' attitudes toward their courses, teachers and friends and the average academic achievement scores taken from the school administration have been compared. In this study being a survey a 30- item attitude scale determined in accordance with sub-problems that have been choosen out of an attitude scale which had previously been tested in terms of validity, reliability and discriminative power index. This attitude scale includes 1 0 attitude items for each sub-problem. The students' academic achievement average scores were defined by computing the average of three semesters' scores taken from the school administration. The relation between the attitude scores and the academic achievement scores have been investigated with the Pearson Multiplication of Moments Correlation Coefficient. Attitude can be defined as“A tendency alttibuted to an individual and that constitutes in a systematic way its thougts, emotions and behaviour concerning tlie psychological object in a systematic way.”So, the findings and relations between attitude and academic achievement have been briefly listed below. iii1. The range of scores of the students' attitudes toward their courses is 3.53, the academic achievement grade is 72.38 and the relation between the attitudes toward the courses and the academic achievement has been found as r = 0.23. That means, there is a relation of.23 between the students' academic achievement and their attitudes toward their courses. 2. The range of scores of the students' attitydes toward their teachers is 2.96, the average of the academic achievement is 72.38 and the relation between the students' attitudes toward their teachers and academic achievement has been found as r= 0.15. That means, there is a relation of.15 between the students' academic achievement and their attitudes toward their teachers. 3. The range of scores of the students' attitudes toward their friends is 3.69, the average of the academic achievement grades is 72.38 and the relation between the students' attitudes toward their friends and the academic achievement has been found as r=0.04. In this sub-problem the students' attitudes toward their friends is high whereas there is a relation of.04 between the academic achievement and the students' attitudes toward their friends (that means that there is almost no relation). In accordance with the findings obtained from the sub-problems and after the determination of the students' attitudes toward their department the range of scores of the students' attitudes toward their department has been found as 3.39. When the average of the academic achievement scores, which is 72.38, was compared with Hie scores of the students' attitudes toward their department, the relation was in found as r = 0.16. That means, there is a relation of.16 between the students' academic achievement and their attitudes toward their department iv
