Özet

Tanzimat'tan sonra Osmanlı Devleti sınırları içerisinde çok sayıda dergi, gazete ve kitap basılmıştır. Bu dönemde çocuklarla ilgili de hatırı sayılır derecede dergi ve gazete göze çarpmaktadır. 1880-1881 yıllarında İstanbul'da, haftada bir olmak üzere 40 sayısı yayımlanan Bahçe dergisi çocuk eğitimi açısından Avrupaî tarzda önemli bir dergidir. Bu dergide çocuklara ve gençlere yönelik pratik bilgiler, genel kültür; tarih, coğrafya, kozmoğrafya, matematik, geometri, fen bilimleri gibi ilimler çocukları sıkmayacak bir şekilde verilmeye çalışılmıştır. Derginin en önemli hususiyetlerinden birisi; çocukların ruhî gelişimine katkıda bulunacak ahlak ve edeple ilgili bilgilerin yer almasıdır. Dergide; roman, tiyatro, Batı ve Doğu klasiklerinden tercüme edilen edebî parçalar, kıssadan hisse tarzında metinler, Fransızca, Farsça, Arapça dil bilgisi dersleri ve Osmanlı Türkçesi gramer uygulamaları çocukların eğitimini tamamlayıcı unsurlardandır. Tezimiz; Giriş ve üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Girişte Osmanlı döneminde neşredilen çocuk dergileri ve özelikle tez konumuz olan Bahçe dergisi tanıtılmıştır. Birinci bölümde; Bahçe dergisinde çıkan yazılar muhtevasına göre tasnif edilmiştir. İkinci bölümde; türlerine göre yazılar yer almaktadır. Üçüncü bölümde ise Sistematik İndeks bulunmaktadır. Daha önce ele alınmamış özgün bir dergi vesilesiyle 19. yüzyılın sonunda çocuk eğitimi ile ilgili metotların günümüzdeki çocuk eğitimine de ışık tutacağı kanaatindeyiz.

After the imperial edict of Gülhane, a number of magazines, newspapers and books were started to be published. In this period also a significant number of newspapers and magazines on children are visible. Bağçe, a weekly magazine published 40 numbers in Istanbul between the years 1880-1881, is an important European-style journal for children's education. In the magazine, certain subjects for children and young people such as practical information, liberal education, history, geography, cosmography, mathematics, geometry, physical sciences are tried to be given in an amusing way. One of the most significant features of the magazine is that it includes a moral stance that can contribute to the spiritual development of children. In the magazine, some of the supplementary components of the children's education are novels, theater plays, literary passages translated from both East and West classics, moral tales, grammar lessons in French, Persian and Arabic and grammar practices in Ottoman Turkish. The thesis includes four chapters. In the introduction, which includes the information about the children's magazines published during the Ottoman Empire and the introduction of Bahçe, the subject of this study. In the first chapter, texts published in the magazine have been classified according to their content. The second Chapter includes articles according to their types. In the third chapter is reserved for a systematic index. We are of the opinion that with the occasion of a magazine that has not been examined before, the contents for child education created in the end of the nineteenth century would contribute to the contemporary child education in some respects
