Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, ilköğretim 7. Sınıf fen bilimleri dersi İnsan ve çevre ünitesinin öğretiminde altı şapkalı düşünme tekniğinin uygulandığı deney grubu ile geleneksel öğretim yönteminin uygulandığı kontrol grubunun akademik başarıları arasında farklılık olup olmadığını belirlemektir. Araştırma 2013-2014 eğitim öğretim yıllı ikinci döneminde Erzurum ili Yakutiye ilçesinde bir ilköğretim okulunun 7. Sınıflarında öğrenim gören, 2 adet sınıfta bulunan 50 öğrenci ile yapılmıştır. Sınıflardan biri rastgele örneklemiyle deney grubunu diğeri kontrol grubunu oluşturmuştur. Deney grubuna iki hafta süreyle altı şapkalı düşünme tekniğine uygun öğretim yapılmıştır. Kontrol grubuna ise iki hafta süreyle geleneksel öğretim yöntemi uygulanmıştır. Uygulama sonucunda kullanılan yöntemlerin Fen Bilimleri dersinde öğrencilerin akademik başarıları üzerinde etkisinin anlamlı olup olmadığını belirlemek amacıyla bağımsız gruplar için t-testi ve bağımlı gruplar için t-testi (Independent Samples t-test, Paired Samples t-test) yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, Altı Şapkalı Düşünme Tekniği uygulanan deney grubu ile geleneksel yöntem uygulanan kontrol grubunun, akademik başarıları arasında istatistikî açıdan anlamlı düzeyde fark olduğu görülmüştür. Araştırma sonuçları gösteriyor ki, Altı Şapkalı Düşünme tekniği, Fen Bilimleri dersi İnsan Ve Çevre ünitesinde, öğrencilerin akademik başarısını artırmada, geleneksel öğretim yöntemlerine göre daha başarılıdır.

The aim of this study is to determine if there is a difference between the academic success of the experimental group on which The Six Thinking Hats Technique is applied and the control group on which the traditional education method is applied in terms of the teaching of The Human and Environment unit of the Science Lesson for the 7th grade at the elementary education level. The research was performed with 50 students who were studying in two 7th grade classes of an elementary school in the Yakutiye district in Erzurum during the second semester of the academic year of 2013-2014. One of the classes generated the experimental group and the other formed the control group by random sampling. The experimental group was instructed in convenience with the six thinking hats technique for two weeks. Whole the control group vas instructed in accordance with the traditional teaching method for two weeks. As a result of this practice, in order to find out if the influence of the applied techniques on the students in the scope of the science lesson were significant or not, the t test was processed for the independent groups and the t test was processed for the dependent groups (Independent Samples t-test, Paired Sample t-test). As a consequence of this research, it has been observed that there is a difference statistically on a significant level between the academic success of the experimental group on which The Six Thinking Hats Technique was applied and the control group on which the traditional method was implemented. The result of the research show that The Six Thinking Hats technique is more successful in comparison with the traditional teaches methods with regard to increasing the academic success of the students within The Human and Environment unit of the science lesson.
