İn this Research, it is aimed to reveal the metaphorical reflections of the opinions of the Students in the school teams about the emotional situations before, during and after the competition. İn this study, which is a mixed study using both qualitative and quantitative data organized in accordance with the descriptive screening model, the following questions were sought: 1. What are the metaphors that students in school teams produce during the competition? 2. What emotions do the metaphors produced by the students in the school teams take place? 3. What are the metaphors that reflect the emotional state of students in the school teams before the competition? 4. What are the metaphors that reflect the emotional state of students in the school teams during the competition? 5. What are the Metaphors that reflecting the emotional state of Students in the school teams after the competition? A part of sample of the research is divided into two junior high schools in Yeşilli of Mardin province in 2015-2016 academic year, 30 students in one high school sport teams. The other part in 9 secondery schools in the province of Büyükçekmece in İstanbul in 2016-2017 academic year, and 158 students in school sports teams. Since the questionnaires of 20 students were invalid in the survey, a survey of 168 students was taken up in the survey. The scales used in the research were formed from a semi-structured questionnaire consisting of two parts, including an open-ended metaphors sample (I like myself…. before competition because……) and demographics that Hanin and Stambulova (2002) applied. The data of the study were collected from the students by the researcher by the interview technique in May 2014 and April 2017. The data obtained in the Research were analyzed with descriptive analysis method and the findings were transformed and interpreted. This process was carried out in 4 stages: 1.Coding and sorting, 2. Category development, 3. Generation and reliability, 4. The state of transferring to Spss package program for qualitative and analysis and qualitative data analysis. Then quantitative data transferred to Spss packet program and frequency and percentage values were taken. The data obtained in the Research are: 1. According to the analysis of the first objective of the research, there are 90 metaphors reflecting the emotional state of the students in the school team. These metaphors are respectively: 'Famous' (132), 'Footballer' (55), 'Lion' and 'Bad' (22), 'Vehicle' (19), 'Sad' (16), 'Nothing' and 'Good' (11), 'Tiger' and 'Cat' (10) are the most frequently mentioned metaphors by students. 2. According to the analysis of the second objective of the research, the emerging metaphors are in five different emotion categories. İn the categories of Pride and Admiration: 231, in the category of Courage, Ambition and Desire: 94, in the categories of Confusion, Contempt and Shame: 64, in the category of Despair: 58 and the category of Anxiety, Fear and Anger: 29 metaphors are found. 3. According to the results of the analysis of the third objective of the research, the metaphors emerging before the competition are respectively; 1. Pride and admiration, 2. Courage, ambition and desire, 3. Despair, 4. Respect, fear and Anger, 5. Exuberance, contempt and embarrassment categories. 4. According to the results of the analysis of the fourth objective of the study, the metaphors emerged during the competition were respectively; 1. Pride and admiration, 2. Courage, ambition and desire, 3. Exuberance, contempt and shame, 4. Despair and 5.Wisdom, fear and Anger categories. 5. According to the analysis of the fifth objective of the study, the metaphors that emerged after the competition were respectively; 1. Pride and admiration, 2. Exuberance, contempt and shame, 3. Despair, 4. Courage, ambition and desire, and 5. Contemplation, fear and anger categories.
