Özet

Üstün yetenekli öğrencilerin eğitimlerinde öğretmenler anahtar roldedirler. Bunun yanında matematik öğretmenleri, akademik alanda üstün yetenekli öğrencilerin eğitiminde etkili öğretmenlerdir. Bu araştırmada matematik öğretmenlerinin üstün yetenekli öğrencilerin eğitimlerine yönelik tutum ve öz yeterliklerinin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden tarama modelindedir. Araştırmanın örneklemi Muğla il merkezi ve ilçelerinde 2017-2018 öğretim yılında görev yapan ortaokul matematik öğretmenleri olarak belirlenmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak Tortop (2014a) tarafından uyarlanan Üstün Yetenekliler Eğitimi Tutum Ölçeği (ÜYETÖ) ve Tortop (2014b) tarafından geliştirilen Üstün Yetenekliler Eğitimine Yönelik Öz yeterlik Ölçeği (ÜYEÖÖ) kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler, SPSS 19 programında değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda matematik öğretmenlerinin üstün yetenekliler eğitimine diar tutum ve öz yeterliklerinin nötr durumun biraz altında olduğu görülmüştür. Devlet ve özel okullarda çalışan matematik öğretmenlerinin üstün yetenekliler eğitimi öz yeterlik puan ortalamalarında özel okullarda çalışanlar lehine anlamlı farklılıklar olduğu bulunmuştur. Bunun yanında üstün yetenekliler eğitimine dair destek eğitim ihtiyacı boyutunda devlet okullarında çalışan matematik öğretmenlerinin tutum puan ortalamaları lehine anlamlı farklılık belirlenmiştir.

Teachers play a key role in the education of gifted students. Mathematics teachers, on the other hand, are effective teachers in the education of gifted students in the academic field. In this study, it was aimed to investigate the attitudes and self-efficacy of mathematics teachers towards the education of gifted students. Research is in the survey model of quantitative research methods. The sample of the research was identified as middle school mathematics teachers who worked in the province of Muğla and in the town of Bodrum in the 2017-2018 school year. As a data gathering tool, the Opinions of Gifted and Their Education (OGTE) Tortop (2014a) and Gifted Education Self-efficacy Scale for Teachers (GESST)developed by Tortop (2014b) were used. The obtained data were evaluated in the SPSS 19 program. As a result of the research, it was seen that the attitudes and self-efficacy of math teachers towards the training of gifted students were slightly below the neutral status. It has been found that math teachers working in state and private schools have significant differences in favor of those working in private schools in the average self-efficacy score. In addition, a significant difference was found on favor of the attitude point averages of mathematics teachers working in public schools in terms of the level of support needed for the training of gifted students.
