Özet
ÖZET Son yirmi yıl içinde, önce üretim sektörü, daha sonra da servis sektörü toplam kalite yönetimiyle, tam bir müşteri tatmini için organizasyonlarında bir yeniliğe gitmişlerdir. Ancak, bu süre boyunca kalite kavramı inşaat sektöründe ön plana çıkamamış ve ikincil bir konu olmuştur. İnşaat firmalarında kalite yönetimi uygulanmasının zorlukları bu sektörün kendine has özelliklerinden kaynaklanmaktadır. Bu tezde, STFA Temel Kazıkları İnşaatı A.Ş. firmasının kalite yönetimi ve kalite temini sistemleri incelenmiştir. Firma orta çaplı bir inşaat firması sayılmasına rağmen, geniş bir yelpazeye yayılmış aktiviteleriyle, Türkiye'de kazıklı inşaatlar üzerine uzmanlaşmış en büyük firmadır. İnceleme ortaya koymuştur ki, firma Türkiye'deki ve dünyadaki birçok rakipleri gibi kalite yönetiminin eksikliğinden dolayı zorlanmaktadır ve büyüdükçe daha da zorlanacaktır. Burada bahsedilen durumların iyileştirilebilmesi için bu çalışmada bazı önemli önerilerde bulunulmuştur. Uluslararası pazardaki artan karmaşıklık ve yoğun rekabet ortamında firmanın, rekabet gücünü yüksek bir firma olabilmesi için bazı stratejik kararlar alma zamanı gelmiştir. 111

ABSTRACT During the last two decades, first the production sector, then the service sector have undergone a revision in their organizations by implementing total quality management for full customer satisfaction. However, this concept has been underestimated in the construction sector. The characteristic differences of the construction sector from the production and service sectors complicate the application of total quality management systems at the construction companies. In this thesis, the quality management and assurance systems of STFA Temel Pile Construction Co. have been analyzed. Although the Company is considered to be a medium sized construction company, it is the biggest company specialized in piled construction in Turkey with a large spectrum of activities. The analysis has demonstrated that the Company, like many of its competitors both in Turkey and worldwide, suffers and will suffer more as it grows, from the lack of established total quality management system. In order to recover from the above situation, some major recommendations have been made in this study. Due to the increased complexity in the sector, and intensive competition at the international markets, it has been seen that the company has to take some strategic decisions to become a more competitive company.
