Özet
Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı çocuk eğitimi konusunda felsefe tarihinin iki önemli filozofu olan Rousseau ve Russell'ın görüşlerini ortaya koymaktır. Bu bağlamda filozofların çocuk eğitimi konusunda benzer ve farklı yönlerinin neler olduğunun da bir karşılaştırmasını yapmaktır. Yöntem: Bu çalışmada araştırılması hedeflenen olgular ve görüşler hakkında bilgi ve belgeler toplanarak nitel bir yöntem izlenmiştir. Nitel yöntemle ele alınan bilgiler ise betimsel analiz yöntemiyle analiz edilmiştir. Bilgi ve belgeler toplanarak bunların arasındaki ilişkiler incelenerek betimsel analizle nitel bir araştırma oluşturulmuştur. Bulgular: Eğitim, modern çağ ve teknolojinin ilerlemesiyle beraber felsefenin gücünden destek alarak yeniden ele alınması gereken bir konudur. Eğitime ilişkin dokunuş yapabilmek çocuğu anlamaktan ve onun yetiştirilme serüveninden geçmektedir. Rousseau ve Russell'ın eğitimin başlangıcına çocuğu yerleştirmeleri istenilen hedeflerin gerçekleştirilmesinde önemli yer tutar. Sonuç: Rousseau ve Russell'a göre çocuk, değerli bir varlıktır. Eğitimin temelinde, çocukta var olan cevheri ortaya çıkaracak bir anlayış olmalıdır. Bu bağlamda başta anne-baba ve öğretmenler olmak üzere hayatında çocuk bulunan herkesin bu bilinçle yaklaşması gerekirken onun fıtratındaki güzellikleri zedelemeden; anlama, yorumlama ve sorgulama kabiliyetini destekleyici bir süreç oluşturulmalıdır. Eğitim, çocukların gelecekte nasıl bir birey olacaklarını belirlerken, içlerinde bulunan gizli gücü ortaya çıkarabilmelerini sağlamalıdır.

Purpose: The aim of this study is to present the views of Rousseau and Russell, two important philosophers in the history of philosophy about child education. In this context, it is a comparison of the similar and different aspects of the philosophers about child education. Method: In this study, a qualitative method was followed by gathering information and documents about the cases and opinions that were aimed to be investigated. The qualitative information was analyzed by descriptive analysis. Descriptive analysis and qualitative research will be formed by collecting information and documents and examining the relationships between them. Findings: Education is a topic that needs to be reconsidered with the support of the power of philosophy as well as with the advancement of modern era and technology. Being able to touch the education is through understanding the child and his or her upbringing adventure. Rousseau and Russell play an important role in achieving the goals that are required to place the child at the beginning of education. Result: According to Rousseau and Russell, the child is a valuable presence. The basis of education should be an opinion that will reveal the ore that exists in the child. In this context, everyone who has children in their lives, especially parents and teachers, should approach this awareness while not damaging the beauties of his nature; a process that supports the ability to understand, interpret and question. Education should enable children to uncover the hidden power contained within them in determining what kind of individual they will become in the future.
