Özet

Bu araştırmanın amacı; kavram haritası yönteminin modern atom teorisi ünitesinin öğretiminde akademik başarıya etkisini araştırmaktır. Araştırma ön test son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desenli bir çalışmadır. 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılı birinci döneminde, Kırşehir ilinde bulunan, bir devlet ve bir özel lise olmak üzere, onbirinci sınıf öğrencileri ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın Atom ve Periyodik Sistem Ünitesinin güvenilirlik testini 115 öğrenci üzerinden gerçekleştirilmiştir. İşlem grupları 15 deney grubu ve 15 kontrol grubu olmak üzere toplam 30 öğrenci ile çalışma sürdürülmüştür. Her iki grupta da araştırmacı tarafından yapılandırmacı yaklaşıma uygun ders etkinlikleri haftada 4 ders saatinden toplam 3 hafta boyunca uygulanmıştır. Araştırma verilerini başarı testi ile değerlendirilerek elde edilmiştir. Başlangıç aşamasından değerlendirme aşamasına kadar deney gurubuna kavram haritası metodu kullanılmıştır. Tesadüfü yöntemle öğrencilere ön test ve son test uygulanmıştır. Bu testler daha sonra bilgisayar ortamında SPSS 22 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) programı ile veri analizi (t-testi) ve Program aracılığı ile Cronbach alfa güvenirlik testi yapılmıştır. Daha sonra ön-test ile son-test sonuçları arasındaki ilişkileri Paired Sample t-Test (Bağımlı Örneklem t-Testi) ile değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, öğrencilerin kavram haritası ile öğrenme başarıları, klasik yönteme göre anlamlı olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Çalışma sonunda kavram haritalarının kullanımına yönelik bazı tavsiye ve öneriler yapılmıştır.

The aim of this study; to investigate the effect of concept map method on academic achievement in teaching modern atomic theory unit. The study was semi-experimental study based on pre and post-tests applications. The study was carried out in the first term of 2018-2019 academic year by the participation of 115 11th year students studying in one state and one private school located in Kırsehir province of Turkey. The reliability test of the Atomic and Periodic System Unit of the study was conducted on 115 students. The study continued with 30 students, 15 experimental groups and 15 control groups. Both groups were subjected to constructive education by the researcher from start to finish. The research data were obtained by evaluating with success test. All the data were elucidated by the use of SPSS 22 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). The same program was also employed to carry out the reliability test. The significance of the relation between pre and post test results were evaluated by the use of Paired Sample t-Test (Dependent sampling t-Test). The results of the study revealed the fact that the achievements of the students taught with concept maps were higher than those taught with classical method. At the end of the study, some suggestions and suggestions were made for the use of concept maps.
