Özet
Tarih boyunca birçok medeniyetin uğrak yeri olan, aynı zamanda doğu ve batıdan gelen yolların kesiştiği bölgede yer alan Ağrı, stratejik konumundan dolayı birçok milletlere, kavimlere ve kadim medeniyete ev sahipliği yapmıştır. Bu medeniyetlere beşiklik eden Ağrı ve bölgesinin tarihi de bu kadim medeniyetler kadar eskidir. Nitekim kutsal kitap Tevrat'ta yer alan Ararat Dağı da Ağrı yöresinde yer almaktadır. Ağrı yöresinin sahip olduğu çeşitli nitelikler, farklı milletlerin de dikkatini çekmiş ve bu bakımdan yöre birçok kez siyasi olarak el değiştirmiştir. Hz. Peygamberin (a.s) nübüvvetiyle birlikte İslam dini ve medeniyeti Arabistan yarımadasıyla sınırlı kalmamış, doğudan batıya ve kuzeyden güneye dünyanın birçok yerine yayılmıştır. Bu dinin ortaya çıkışı ve yayılışıyla birlikte, bilhassa dört halife döneminde yoğunlaşan fetih hareketlerinde bölge de nasibini almış. Hz. Osman döneminde feth edilen Ağrı ve çevresi bir İslam beldesi olarak varlığını günümüze kadar devam ettirmiştir. Bölgeye farklı dönemlerde farklı sebeplerle gelen Ehl-i Beyt bakiyesinden Seyyid aileler ise bulundukları yerlerde çeşitli ilmî tedrisatlarda bulunmuş ve çok sayıda ilim ehli yetiştirmişlerdir. Bu bağlamda, çalışmamızda Ağrı merkez ve bağlı yerlerde bulunan Seyyid ailelerin tespit ve tanıtımları ele alınmıştır. Bu çalışmada Osmanlı Arşiv Belgelerine başvurulmuş, Seyyid ailelerin evlerine kadar gidilerek bire bir mülakat ve görüşmelerde bulunulmuş, ellerinde mevcut Seyyidlik şecereleri tarafımızdan incelenmiştir. Bu bilgiler ışığında Seyyid olduğu belirlenen aileler kronolojik bir sırayla incelenerek mevcut konumları belirlenmiştir.

Serving as an old stomping ground for various civilizations throughout history and also located in the region where roads originating from both the east and the west intersected, Ağrı hosted several nations, peoples, and ancient civilizations by its strategic position. The history of Ağrı and its environs which became the cradle of these civilizations is also as old as these ancient civilizations. The Mount Ararat referred to in the Holy Torah is also situated in the vicinity of Ağrı. Various features of the Ağrı region also drew the attention of different nations, and, in this respect, politically, the ownership of the region changed hands several times. Along with the messengers of Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.), the religion and civilization of Islam did not remain confined to the Arabian Peninsula and spread across many places in the world from east to west and from north to south. Ağrı region got also its fair share from military campaigns organized more and more together with the emergence and spread of the religion of Islam especially during the Rashidun Caliphate. Conquered in the period of Caliph Uthman, Ağrı and its environs continued to be an Islamic settlement until the present. Sayyid families (Descendents of Ahl al-Bayt, that is, the Family of the Prophet Muhammad) who came to Ağrı region for a variety of reasons at different periods offered education on various Islamic studies in places where they lived and raised a large number of scholars competent in Islamic studies. In this conjunction, Sayyid families living in downtown Ağrı and its environs were identified and presented in the study. In this study, Ottoman archives were consulted, interviews and meetings were organized on a one-on-one basis by paying visits to the houses of Sayyid families, and the family pedigrees existing in their possession were examined by us. In light of the obtained information, families that were designated as-Sayyid families were studied in chronological order and their locations were identified.
