Özet

Stratejik yönetim içerdiği unsurlar ile şirketlere bulundukları konumu, sahip oldukları ürün ve teknolojileri gösterirken, gelecekte belirledikleri noktaya ulaşmalarına yardımcı olur. Vizyon ve misyon tanımları da belirlenen noktaya ulaşma sürecinde şirketin yöneticilerine rehberlik eden önemli unsurlardandır. Çalışmanın amacı; belirli bir dönemde Borsa İstanbul Halka Arz Endeksi'nde yer alan ve stratejik yönetim anlayışı ile yönetilen şirketlerin, bu anlayışla yönetilmeyenlere göre finansal performanslarındaki farklarının tespitidir. Çalışma içerisinde ilk olarak finansal performans ve halka arz kavramı, süreçleri ile birlikte açıklanırken, sonraki bölümde stratejik yönetim unsurlarından vizyon ve misyon, dördüncü bölümde ise veri madenciliği yöntemi açıklanmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında oran analizi ile veri madenciliği yöntemleri bir arada kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini oluşturan 20 şirket, 1 Ocak 2018 ile 31 Aralık 2019 tarihleri arasında Borsa İstanbul Halka Arz Endeksi'nde yer almıştır. Şirketlerin finansal performanslarının ölçümünde oran analizi yöntemlerinden DuPont Analizi metodu kullanılarak şirketlerin halka açık finansal raporları doğrultusunda aktif devir hızları, net kâr marjları, aktif kârlılıkları, kaldıraç oranları, özsermaye çarpanları ve özsermaye kârlılıkları hesaplanmıştır. Vizyon ve misyon ifadelerinin içeriklerinin incelenmesinde Türkçe'nin dil yapısı nedeniyle aynı kelimelerin farklı kabul edilmesini engellemek için öncelikle ifadelerde yer alan kelimeler etimolojik köklerine indirgenmiştir. Kelimelerin etimolojik kökleri ile oluşturulan ifadeler üzerinde ters doküman sıklığı ile tanımlarda kullanılan ortak ve nadir kelimeler tespit edilirken, kelime bulutu yöntemiyle de tüm vizyon ve misyon ifadeleri içerisinde en çok tekrar eden ifadeler belirlenmiştir.

Strategic management helps companies reach the point they are progressing while showing them where they are, where they are, with the elements it contains. Achieving the point of reaching with vision and mission definitions is one of the important elements that guide the managers of the company. The main aim of this study is to determine the differences in the financial performance of companies managed with a strategic management approach compared to those that are not managed with this understanding in the Borsa Istanbul Public Offering Index. In this study, the concept of financial performance and public offering is explained together with its processes in the first section, while the vision and mission, which are among the strategic management elements, are explained in the next section, and the data mining method is explained in the fourth section. Ratio analysis and data mining methods were used together as the method of the research. The universe of the research consists of 20 companies included in the Borsa Istanbul IPO Index during January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2019. In measuring the financial performance of companies, the DuPont Analysis method, one of the ratio analysis methods, was used to calculate the asset turnover rates, net profit margins, return on assets rates, leverage ratios, equity multipliers and return on equity rates in line with the financial reports of the companies. To prevent the same words from being accepted differently due to the Turkish language structure, in the examination of the contents of the vision and mission statements, first of all, the words in the expressions were reduced to their etymological roots. While the common and rare words used in definition were determined by reverse document frequency on the expressions created with the etymological roots of the words, the most repetitive expressions were detected in all vision and mission statements with the word cloud method.
