Özet
Bu çalışmada Dönüştürücü Öğrenme Teorisi bağlamında toplumsal cinsiyet duyarlılığı ile hikâye okuma arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Araştırma, toplumsal cinsiyet konularını işleyen hikâyelerin ve bu hikâyeleri konu eden grup tartışmalarının gruptaki katılımcılarda ne ölçüde toplumsal cinsiyet rolleri farkındalığı oluşturduğunu, katılımcıların anlam şemalarında ve anlam perspektiflerinde ne gibi değişimlere yol açtığını, eleştirel düşünceye, sorgulamaya, özdüşünüme, yeni perspektifler edinmeye ve en nihayetinde değişime ne derece teşvik ettiklerini ele almıştır. Çalışma, edebiyatın sunduğu kurgusal dünya ve karakterlerle etkileşim neticesinde oluşabilecek perspektif dönüşümü yoluyla ülkemizde hayatın her alanını yakından ilgilendiren toplumsal cinsiyet kalıp yargılarının ve rollerinin sorgulanmasını hedeflemektedir. Bu bağlamda, çalışma öncelikle Mezirow'un Dönüştürücü Öğrenme kuramından ve bu kuramın duygusal boyutlarına daha fazla vurgu yapılarak geliştirilmesinden hareketle, sanatın ve edebiyatın, kuramın temel kavramlarıyla ilişkisini ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Araştırmada araştırmacının surecin hem içinde olduğu hem de dışarıdan katıldığı“eylem araştırması”yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Grup çalışması süreci grup tartışması biçiminde yürütülmüştür ve araştırmacı tarafından önceden hazırlanmış olan sorular tartışmayı yönlendirmiştir. Haftada bir defa olmak üzere bir araya gelerek seçilen ve okunan hikâyeler ışığında hem hikâyelerde geçen hem de öğrencilerin kendi hayatlarında onlara dayatılan toplumsal cinsiyet rollerinin farkına varılması, irdelenmesi ve sorgulanması çalışmanın temelini oluşturmaktadır.

In this study, the relationship between gender awareness and story reading and group discussion was examined within theTransformative Learning Theory context. This research examined the extent to which stories covering gender issues and group discussions about these stories raise awareness of gender roles in the participants, what changes they cause in the semantics and semantic perspectives of the participants, and to what extent they foster critical thinking, critical questioning, self-reflection, new perspectives and ultimately change and transformation. The study aims to question gender stereotypes and roles that affect all areas of life in our country through perspective transformation that may occur as a result of interaction with the fictional world and characters offered by literature. Within this framework, the study aims to discuss the relationship of art and literature with the basic concepts of theory, primarily based on Mezirow's theory of Transformative Learning and the development of this theory with greater emphasis on its emotional dimensions. In the research, the“participatory action research”method was used, in which the researcher was both in the process and participated from outside. The group study process was conducted in the form of group discussion and the questions prepared by the researcher in advance directed the discussion. In the light of the stories selected and read once a week, awareness, examination and questioning of the gender roles both issued in the stories and the students are imposed in their own lives form the basis of the study.
